Have you been diagnosed with primary or secondary hypogonadism? If you can get your lab results posted that would help a lot. At age 22 you definitely want to try and get your HPTA fired up again if it is possible.

I'm curious how blood serum levels are not accurate and you need to measure albumin for a "calculation". Best of luck with the clomid treatment, but if your doc hasn't even identified if you have reasonable LH/FSH signals yet, I worry about your future visits to be honest.

His explanation, paraphrased, for the inaccuracies for the lab tests is: They took ten of the top labs in the country (didn't say which) and provided them all with identical specimens for them to run the same tests and they came back with ten very different results. So, based on this observation, they came up with a calculation based on a variety of variables in which I am not familiar with. I'm just stating what I was told.

From previous labs, I had my LH and FSH checked. Low end of normal range based on that labs standards but each lab has their own. Based on these levels he was concerned because typically, he said, low T produces high FSH and LH and vice versa. Reason for the MRI.

He allowed me to try clomiphene on my request but said "I hope it doesn't work so that you know this isn't an issue but I do not have a problem with you trying it yourself." I sort of told him that if he didn't let me try it I would try it somewhere else.

I am no doctor nor do I claim I know exactly what I'm saying or repeating what I interpreted correctly. I'm restating, to the best of my memory, my experience.

I hope they know something I don't, but that sounds like a cockamamie scheme to me. Sure blood results for serum levels of anything could differ from lab to lab, but a calculation to normalize this out? Hmmm, sounds fishy - but who knows, maybe they're onto something?

If your LH/FSH are within range, you're likely primary hypogonadal - which means clomid likely won't do much for you to be honest. You stated low-normal, so I wouldn't give up on it, but be ready for bad news as that is a potential outcome here. LH is the signal from your pituitary gland that tells your testes to make testosterone, so if that signal is there and you're not making any... raising that signal higher is likely not going to do much. Keep in mind I'm not a doctor, but as a guy that has been through a lot of the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) hoops, I can just say to hang in there and hopefully this works out for you! :)

Dying to know what your new LH/FSH numbers are to give you that small bump in TT. I really hope your doc listens to you if you don't feel "right" yet and simply goes by the fact that you're no longer out of range for total test values. My personal philosophy is that if I have to be bothered to take drugs to fix something, I'm going to make it worth my while and optimize the hell out of it.

Coming up on two weeks since my last post and just wanted every one interested know that I am doing well with Clomiphene. Libido is up (as high as I ever remember it being), mental outlook on things are better and more positive about things, and decent amount of energy. Nothing major but its not like I'm as sleepy so early anymore.

I have missed some doses and so there have been 2 days in a row without taking a dose but it hasn't phased me I don't think. All is well and I will keep going until my check up in October! If I keep having positive results, hopefully its something my Endo will allow me to continue taking.

Nice man, sounds like a case of secondary. I wonder if that's all you needed, or if you need to remain on the clomid. Looking forward to those new test results. :)

I wanted to update the info. Its been a little over a month since starting the Clomid 50mg EOD. Like I said, I was feeling great before and that could be contributed to a lot of factors such as no stress from class, relaxed diet, and the relationship status is good.

Now, I still have a better mind set about things. I'm not nearly as negative as I use to be. Libido is still up but not nearly what it was the first few weeks I started. College started back the end of August and I've been swamped with assignments ever since. I put some of the blame on typical life stresses.

I still feel better overall. Lab results in October.

Awesome, I'm glad to know that you are starting to feel better. :) Yeah, I totally understand the being swamped part as I too am in college right now. ;)

Not to go off on a tangent, but just curious of what your education is in and what you're studying now? You seem like an incredibly intelligent individual. Even though my rep power isn't much, I repped you today because I forgot and tried a while back but didn't have enough posts!

Thanks for the concerns!
Thanks for the compliment. :) My major is electrical engineering with a minor in physics. Be sure to leave your name on reps so I can get you back faster next time. ;)
