REGINA (CP) - A one-kilogram bag of pure testosterone is evidence in one of the city's biggest steroid seizure cases.
Five Regina residents have been arrested in what police claim is an international steroid smuggling ring. The five are accused of smuggling and possessing more than $80,000 worth of steroids.
"We're alleging it is an importing ring, a manufacturing ring and a distribution ring, all in Regina." said Sgt. Gerry Good of the Regina Police Service.
Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and importing steroids are three men and two women, all in their 20s.The accused have made a first appearance in court and have been released on an undertaking to return tomorrow.
Good said the charges were laid after Calgary Customs agents intercepted a package from China last month that was bound for delivery in Regina.
