Measuring test level & supps

Getting ready to get my third shot. Doc did a blood test this past Friday and it came in at 467. The 467 was a reading 9 days after the last injection. I'm on 200mg every two weeks.

#1 Is 467 a decent level for a 39yr old, especially since its a reading 9 days after injection? I am starting to feel better but am unsure if more would be better/faster...

#2 Since the doc won't increase my test any higher, are there any test boosters that work with us "shut off" testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) guys?

All comments appreciated.

Don't inject once every two weeks! That is horrible. You are going to have a huge spike in your T in the beginning and a huge dip at the end. Inject at least once a week -- just split your dose in half to 100mg. Lot's of guys inject twice a week to smooth things out and help keep their estrogen under control. If you do this you would do around 50mg twice a week (every 84 hours).

Just to add to what Megatron has:

1) 467 is from an early blood test - it may take a couple more weeks for the effects of the exogenous test to fully build in your bloodstream. Going with 2x a week as mentioned above will also help to prevent a hormonal rollercoaster ride.

2) Test boosters work marginally at best and are aimed at boosting your NATURAL test levels which, if you're on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) are nonexistent. Another factor that will help increase your levels is to lose any extra body fat and to also check your estrogen levels. A natural mechanism that our bodies utilize is to convert what it feels to be "extra" testosterone into estrogen through aromatization. This process is amplified in bodyfat and can also be controlled with the use of an aromatase inhibitor (AI) that most doctors aren't up to date on yet.

If your blood tests come back high for estrogen, I would definitely bring this up to your doctor as a cause for concern as high E2 levels are not only carcinogenic, but can lead to a ton of mental issues and even man-boobies. I had to take this part of my testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) into my own care as my doctor was not comfortable prescribing an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) even though my E2 levels were peaking at 77pg/dL! (range of 7.6-42.6pg/dL)

The only other real piece of advice I can give is to read, read and read some more. There is a wealth of information on the internet as more and more men are being diagnosed with low T and start to share experiences/ideas/results on boards such as this one. The more knowledge you have in this subject, the better armed you are to discuss your treatment with your doc from an informed point of view. Be warned, some doctors do not like being on the learning side of the bedside, so you may find yourself looking for another provider that has more experience in this field.

Good luck and welcome to 'ology! :)

Wow, great info guys! Since my doc only tested for test and doesn't seem to really have his act together on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), I guess I'll go do my own blood work in a couple weeks. Very curious about the estrogen... If I'm way out of whack, hopefully the doc will listen. He wasn't so keen on self injections and I don't really want to go to his office more often as I travel for work and scheduling is tough.

Assuming I get my own blood work and am sill on the every 2weeks injections, when during the 2 weeks would be the best time to draw the blood, In the middle?

do your own injections weekly, 100 mg per week if your alowed 200 every 2 weeks. then if you can test in the middle or roughly 3 1/2 days after injection for a peak and again the morning before the next injection for a low. then you know whats going on
