well i wanted to fart around in my new Metal Viking bench shirt..hit some raw warm ups then put her on and started doing 2-brd presses..

I hit 455x3 off the 2-brd..it was my last set and by far my best..rather easy as well..had more in me but didnt want to get too far ahead of myself..Im hoping for some big bench numbers this year.. this weight was a snap to lockout as well..it was like a feather..the 12 weeks of raw board and all the CG work has finally payed off!!!

how tight is the shirt, did they get your shirt right the first time. Did you get the thing on yourself. Lets hear it.

i had my brother help me into the shirt..its really not difficult but you cant get it on by yourself..the shoulders need to be pulled while you wiggle your arms into the sleeves...then you need to play around with it and tug on the bottom to get the shirt tight and have another person tighten the belt while the shirt is held on the bottom..so you need 2 people to get into it..

As far as i know the shirt fits right lol..PB said it shouldnt be easy to touch..with 405 on the bar it wasnt easy to touch the 2 board..LOL

how was it fiding the groove. Cause that is what i am going to buy.

i cant actually say..i was so damn excited to be in the thing it was hard to keep my focus..this is my first time in a shirt but the groove on the viking is similar to denim except you dont have to bring it as low..(this is what ive read from guys like JL, and childress who are using the shirt

btw- the neck on mine came unattached..i thought it was supposed to be attached..no harm i was planning to cut it in the future..

i have a little "guide" to getting into the shirt ill scan it and post it later for you..

Good info! I really want to try the metal deadlifter. A regular suit never did shit for my deads and I have heard lots of good things about the metal deadlifter as being the first suit to REALLY help your dead nembers. And with my recent conversion to sumo, I need all the help I can get. Recent conventional pull 610, recent sumo 530! But the sumo is moving up now pretty fast (my first pull a bit ago was 495) so we shall see.

I think they recommend the pro squatter for pulling sumo.

the old marathon deadlift suit was awesome and there are a few still around being used by big pullers , richard hawthorn weighs in in the LOW 100s and pulls in the high 5s in a marathon suit . rumor has it the metal dl suit is VERY similar to the old marathon suit

I think it is the IPF deadlifter that is similar to the Marathon from what i have picked up in my reading. I could be wrong though, metal makes 3 deadlift suits i think.

so its open back now? completely open? if so thats good. much easier to put on. plus youll have more play in it too. for lighter weights let it ride up high on the chest. for heavier weights pull it down low. this makes it harder to touch but loads it up more.

my damn pec is stil sore. so i havent benched again. hopefully soon though.

heres another tip. dont use your normal weight belt. they are too wide. get a 2-3 inch work belt like goes on tool pouches. they hold the shirt in place and allow the belly to pop up. when the shirt hits, it pushs the belly towrds your feet and the belt forces it up so youll have a shorter stroke. the wide belt hinders this abit.

make sure to leave a little slcak i th shirt too cause if you dont it will fight against you when you trying to set up with a big arch. once yopu get set up have someone to pull the belt down.

hop a long pb. that has a nice ring to it.
