Muay Thai in my training split

I'm joining a Muay Thai gym today and I think I'm going to start a new training split so I don't have to lift and spar on the same day.
(I did this with boxing, and felt useless, I'd have to go box immediately after lifting). here is what i figure I'll do:

monday: chest & Bi's
Tuesday: Muay Thai
Wednesday: Shoulders and Legs
Thursday: Muay Thai
Friday Muay Thai
Satruday: Back & Tri's

I do the 5x5 wrokout, and I want to know if my training frequency will be sufficient for bulking-muscle gain.

Please help out if you have suggestions on how i should incorporate Muay Thai with my bulking. Thai box Training is on tuesdays, thursdays, and fridays.

hey bro you can still do just about any split while fighting, just do your lifting after your workouts. sure you will be more spent during your lifting but it all comes down to what you feel needs more attention. i went through this for years trying to balance body building and fighting and honestly i found the best type workout while fighting anyway was a M/W/F full body split. keeping it vary simple as opposed to doing a normal split with tons of movements per muscle. much more then that and i would start to over train, you have to remember you are using a lot of those same muscles for your boxing/muay thai training. as for what you have above it looks OK to me but, i would do all push (c/s/t) Monday, legs Wednesday, and all pull (b/b/f) on Saturday. i just like that split and always works great for me. good luck and are you going to compete or just working out?

Tanks for the help man. I know (c/s/t) is chest, shoulders, triceps, but by (b/b/f) do you mean back, biceps, forearms or what does the f stand for?
I'm just training for my own pleasure. Maybe a time from now I will compete, but now I'm still far from ready.

You are correct, you don't want to lift then go do Mui Thai, you'll be toast! :) I've tried it and it sucked.. I've been trying to balance this same routine for awhile now and I'll quickly share my thoughts. I train in MMA so that's essentially 4-5 days a week of Mui Thai and BJJ. Then I try and lift 3 days a week. Over training can and does happen so be prepared... not so much w/my Mui Thai but w/the BJJ it adds up. I've learned that Bulking and extreme heavy weights does NOT mix well with kick boxing/Mui Thai, sucks but it's true and I had to learn the hard way. Even just doing it for fun or hobby, you want to be lean, quick, flexible, and have great cardio/endurance. Even when learning the sport. This will require a weight training regimn more geared toward that. High reps, dynamic sports style strength/conditioning. When I tried bulking and heavy ass weights w/MMA, I'd get killed and my body would just fizzle out fast while sparring and training. Sure, you can do heavy days hear and there but.. I think you get the point. Just something to think about. :) Enjoy it though and have fun... because it is! Then you can change things up as you progress in your MT training.

yeah bro i meant forearms and i even throw shrugs into this day some times. sorry i took a few days to answer back but i was sick in bed the past two days. if your doing it for fun you can do just about anything you want, not having to worry about weighing in or anything like that! that's how i found my self fighting guys over a foot taller then me, i couldn't stand being small! i would give that workout a try because it gives each muscle ample time to recover, again remember you are still working those muscles doing your kick boxing, and you don't want to over train! when i was fighting i had friends that never touched a weight and looked like they could be on the cover of a mag, the same reason a boxers back is so big and defined! it may be a different workout but still working the same muscles! if you going to do it for a while you will find what works best for your body, just pay close attention to how your muscles are feeling and responding then make changes as needed! if you want i have workouts form the actual Olympic try outs that coaches made just for boxers, its a full body workout to be done M/W/F but I'm sure you could make changes if needed. it worked very well for me years ago, let me know and i will try to find it! good luck bro and keep us posted for sure!

Thanks for writing back, those Olympic workouts sound great. It would be really nice if you could send me a link to them. Until then I'll be constantly adjusting my training until I figure out what works best with the MT. thanks again help bros!

no problem, i will look for it! its been a few years but i know its around here somewhere so as soon as i can find it i will post it for everyone. hopefully i can also find the cardio/"jump" training workouts, those things will have you ready to cry! :) see what i can do and post them as soon as i can!
