My mom is suffering from Angina :'-(

My mother has been diagnosed with Angina a couple months ago and its getting really bad. She can barely walk a block from the house before loosing her breath, feeling pain and weak. She is going to Miami tomorrow to get a second opinion on the procedure that involves a tube being inserted in the vein and blowing it up to let the bad crap loose.
My father is really scared to have this done because the same thing happened with my moms mother and she left the hospital in worse condition then what she went in with. My grandmother left the hospital blind, paralyzed and didn't know who she even was. She kept getting stokes, one after the other and finally came to a sad end.

Do you guys know of any good result that involve this procedure? I want to make sure that the chances of her making it out OK are very high. My family can't afford to loose her. This is a women that has adopted 8 girls and gave them a chance at life while she had me and my 3 older brothers. Hopefully GOD will return the favor. :'-(

I apologize, the main reason for posting this is because I wanted to get insights/opinions on what kind of physical activities I could have her do. I told my father to get a treadmill and have her use it for 45min every morning but he says that she won't be able to cause she can't even walk a block. What do you suggest I have her do?

P.S. Thanks MRANAK!

Mann its more complicted than that, you should as a doctor what shes capable of doing as far as excercise, or if thats gonna make things worse eve. From what I understand angina is chest pain due to high levels of the bad cholesterol from over the years? correct me if im wrong, just have her eat a really clean diet, get her on a multivitamin, and if the doc ok's it have her walk as much as he says she can. Good luck and God bless.

no one on this board is qualified to recommend anything for her unless they are a doctor AND they have done a full exam to determine what type of angina it is. if its bad, pharmacology and surgery are usually the only options. dude, just hang out with your moms a bunch, you know they love that stuff... and listen to your doctor! god bless
