My Year With 3J - a journey into fitness

I check for new breast masses every few days to try and catch any gyno when it is just forming, but mostly because I think I am hot and I want to touch my own chest (haha - just kidding). Anyway, today I was worried and shocked to find my chest is VERY sore and a bit tender! I started thinking the worse, went to look up the info on gyno again (great write up about it HERE), and then stopped myself and laughed.

Yesterday was chest day.

Yeah, the E2 level of 248 is making me paranoid...just had to out myself there. :)

Another week has gone by, slowly improving. I was hoping for a bit more muscle build up by now, but I have to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. I look better than I have during the previous 46 years of my life, so there is that! :)

I am going to get blood work done at the end of this coming week which will give me my total testosterone level as well as see how well I have gained control over my E2. We will see what levels I get from my pharmacy Test and PSL created Deca.

Oh Lord, why did you have to make Reece's Peanut Butter Cups so delicious? Why? Is it not enough to temp me with M&Ms?

Decided to give an update on the different exercises I selected from to show some progress:

Entry from 3/20/15
Flat Bench Press (15, 4, 6, 8, 20): 130, 190, 150, 130, 90
Dead Lifts (15, 4, 6, 8): 120, 190, 160, 150
Side Lateral Raises (15, 4, 8, 8, 20): 25, 35, 30, 25, 20
Squats (15, 4, 6, 8): 130, 220, 200, 190
Dumbbell Bicep Curls (15, 4, 6, 8): 30, 45, 40, 35

Current, 4/16/15, about a month later
Flat Bench Press (15, 4, 6, 8, 20): 150, 220, 180, 170, 90
Dead Lifts (15, 4, 6, 8): 140, 220, 190, 180
Side Lateral Raises (15, 4, 8, 8, 20): 30, 45, 35, 30, 20
Squats (15, 4, 6, 8): 160, 240, 220, 210
Dumbbell Bicep Curls (15, 4, 6, 8): 30, 45, 40, 35

They all went up, considerably in my opinion, except the curls. I expected the curls to not go up. I actually reduced the weight and started doing them properly, then slowly increased the weight back up to where I was a month ago. Now I am doing them properly instead of "swinging them all around" as it would have appeared. They are MUCH harder when done properly, so I am hopeful to see good gains from them. :)

Even if my muscles are not getting larger, which would be sad, they are getting STRONGER. Of that there is no doubt - the weights simply cannot lie.

Very nice progress man! All the weights heading in the right direction... Arms always take forever to build up strength though. I'd say your doing quite well though considering you've corrected form - your not wrong in saying they get a shitload harder. You've probably actually gotten quite a bit stronger than you think if your moving the same weight in a controlled fashion.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I am blasting big time with Deca and Test, so I am hopeful to see large size gains as well. I keep telling myself the strength gains are what matter the most...but I was bigger muscles to go along with them! 3J just upped my carbs, so that should help...will find out Sunday when I measure next.

I also am getting blood taken tomorrow morning, with the unlimted test result. I am very interested to see where I currently stand.

I wanted to give a little pictoral update. The first picture is me before I started working out and before I got my testosterone fixed and started doing TRT injections. The second is about a month ago. Can't give out ALL the goodness in one shot, eh? :)

I have come such a long way and STILL have changes happening!

4-19-15

Was a good week, all in all. Was attacked by a couple of Reece's' Peanut Butter Cups. Do not fear for me, I was able to defend myself. It was a bestial fight, one involving teeth and ripping the PBCs to shreds...

Other than that, the week went well. I worked out hard again. My new workout buddy is helping keep me honest with myself and is pushing me harder than I pushed myself. In turn, I am doing the same for him. He just called me and complained that I was forcing him to buy a new belt. :)

No results yet from the blood work, though I did not expect it yet. Labcorp would often get me the results the next day, sometimes the SAME day. Quest is slow as fuck.

Onto the stats:

*Weight: 186
*Neck: 16.25
*Chest: 41.5
*Stomach: 34
*Waist Line: 34.25
*Biceps: L: 13 R: 13
*Thighs: L: 23.5 R: 23.25
*Calves: L: 15 R: 15
*Forearms: L: 11.75 R: 11.75

4-26-15

A little disheartening - nothing really changed. Everything is within what I would say are normal reading tolerances of error, effectively meaning the last week did nothing to increase the sizes of my muscle groups. I am not sure what to do now - maybe change the exercise routine to something different? My strength is increasing - I know this because my numbers are slowly increasing (except when I reduce them to correct my form when I notice I am starting to get sloppy - but then they increase again after that). At least I am not gaining any fat either, though. It feels like I am on a recomp instead of a bulk - fat is staying low and strength is increasing. My forearms are getting more vascular; I see more veins than I normally see and more than I have ever seen before. So there are good sides to it at least.

Anyway, here are my stats:

*Weight: 185
*Neck: 16.25
*Chest: 41.25
*Stomach: 34
*Waist Line: 34
*Biceps: L: 13 R: 13
*Thighs: L: 23.25 R: 23.25
*Calves: L: 15 R: 15
*Forearms: L: 11.75 R: 11.75

STILL no blood work results - I am going to contact them about it, this is getting silly.

New results, just in. I wanted to see my max Test level, a little disappointed at the results. My ALT and AST are high, so I need to up my NAC and TUDCA. My E2 has dropped dramatically, but is still high. I will get more blood work done in a few weeks.

How much test are you on?

Were you feeling sick or run down around the time you had the blood drawn? Monocytes are playing up a bit.

Definitely run your TUDCA now. Go for 9mg/kg dosing. How much NAC are you running?

And as you mentioned you need to up the AI a bit too..

600mg of test-cyp and 400mg of deca per week.
Doing 2400mg of NAC a day, 1200 in the morning, 1200 before going to bed. I am only doing one TUDCA pill, will up that to two...and get more, I am low.
Yeah, I was pretty sure I was going to need to up my AI, but I did not want to go overboard. It dropped from 248 to 81, a hefty drop...so I only need to increase it a wee bit more.

I have a house guest who is awaiting trial and is not allowed to leave the county. He lost his apartment due to the pending trial, so he is staying with me and the wife. He had been sick, so most likely I caught what he had. I tend to get half sick - just run down, tired, etc...usually never get full blown sick like most people do. Since they are not that far above normal, I am not too worried. Like I said, I will get another blood work done in most likely 3 weeks so I can assess again. The wife supports everything I do, provided I get a LOT of blood work to show I am being safe about it. :)

I had myself genetically tested for Male Pattern Baldness, here are the results:

Results
rs1160312 AG Less likely to go bald
rs2180439 CT Less likely to go bald

The best is to have GG and CC, but I am happy with the results. This explains why, at age 46, I barely have any hair loss. I have a little thinning at the crown of my head, but nothing too bad. I have lots of hair still. :) GO ME!!!

Still banging on the weights. My weight numbers keep slowly rising, though my body is not getting bigger. I am LOOKING great and feeling great (except when I am on my way home from the gym - then I feel old, heh). I did catch a fit, young woman watching me in the mirror as I did squats. I pretended not to notice so she would not stop. :) First time for me, great feeling. I think she was younger than my daughter...but my daughter is 27 so that leaves a bit of space there in the fully legal age range.

I just checked - I am on week eight of my twelve week bulk cycle. Only four short weeks left to it! WOW, where does the time go? While I wanted to gain a bit more mass than I did (and I still have an entire month to do it), I certainly cannot complain about what I have accomplished so far under the guidance of 3J. My strength just keeps increasing week after week - I have started adding weight even if I do not think I am ready just to see if I actually am - and usually surprise myself with it! Though sometimes I do have to go "uh, no, not yet". :) Still, I look great, feel great, and am happy so far.

I am starting to wish I learned about this world of ours (funny to include myself in it) sooner. :)

I have not updated the weights I am pushing for a bit, time to do that:

5/7/15
Flat Bench Press (15, 4, 6, 8, 20): 160, 220, 180, 170, 90
Dead Lifts (15, 4, 6, 8): 140, 220, 195, 190
Side Lateral Raises (15, 4, 8, 8, 20): 30, 45, 35, 30, 20
Squats (15, 4, 6, 8): 160, 250, 220, 210
Dumbbell Bicep Curls (15, 4, 6, 8): 30, 45, 40, 35

Not really too much change over the last 3 weeks. I have been concentrating more on form, though.

I just finished arm day, the Dumbbell Bicep Curl (15, 4,6,8) should be: 35, 45, 40, 35

That little bump at the start makes the rest quite a bit harder!

None of my readings changed at all except my weight went up one pound. I feel stronger, and AM stronger (my weight numbers keep going up). I suspect I have simply reached the limit of what can be accomplished on this cycle. Two weeks left of it, I think. I am quite happy with the results and everything I learned about myself in the process. I get compliments from people all the time now about how great I look, and I know they are right and not just being nice.

Anyway, onto the stats:

I almost died in my first Kung Fu class...the first 25 minutes were called "line drills". I renamed them "kill the 46 year old man drills". I realized that youth really does matter a LOT! LOL.

I have started taking TNE as a preworkout - created a thread about it and loved it. Amazing stuff. I am going to take some before my next class on Monday and see if it helps me survive it better. :)
