On August 13, 2005, Aaron Courtney became one of the Top 20 All-Time World Record Deadlift Holders: 830 lbs. @ 242.0 lbs and a month later on September 18th, he became the 2005 USPF U.S. Open Champion of Champions & Strength Challenge Winner. I'd say that's pretty impressive considering this ectomorph cyclist started out strength training weighing in at 155lbs. Like most young guys breaking into the sport, his initial instructional information came from bodybuilding magazines, but he quickly learned he needed to customize his workouts to fit his own body's requirements. Aaron feels one of the first things he should have corrected was basic and he wished he had done it sooner. Even though he was growing and was 200lbs by the summer of 1999, he feels even greater muscular gains could have been made had he paid closer attention to food consumption by setting up an eating program right away.

Aaron has a great deal of experience behind him through personal trial and error and shares his knowledge openly. You may already know him as goldenear on the boards~

Aaron is a great guy and very very helpful when it comes to deadlifting. He is one of the many powerlifters who takes time out of his day to answer questions for people, very extensively most of the time.
