guys is it possible to gain an inch in my arms without having to gain weight??

i got 17" arms and will love to have 18" but at 5'6, 183lbs ,18%bf dont want to gain anymore weight.my goal is to gain 1" before i start to drop my b.f and weight.im 4o yr old, been trainning for about 20 years on and off. i currently do biceps with back 15 sets and triceps with chest 15 sets.
any advice wether new workout or gear pleae jump in ....thankx:biggthump
 
that depends, genetics will play a role when your under weight, it depends if your genetics are on your side, you would still have to gain 10-15 pounds give or take to obtain 1 inch.
 
LMFAO this title sideways'd me lmao. What kind of bicep work, or tricep work outs do you do? Sometimes the simplest routines are the best. I have been doing Dumbbell work outs for curls and Tri's and I havent had a better work out yet to this day.

Do the 5x5 routine for those areas. Find out what weight is almost impossible to use/curl/extend with, then drop it by 5lbs. I only sometimes get 2 work outs a week with arms. Cause i kill them this way. My arms are looking more filled now.
 
Heres my suggestion. Dont over do it in isolation exercises. There are many different compound exercises and to grow, you want to be using multiple muscle groups. I'm sure you know that squats, deads, and bench are your 3 main/basic compund exercises. They use multiple large muscle groups. This will help your body release more natural growth hormone. When it comes to the exercises themselves, I agree that a 5x5 or 5x6 is the way to go.Choose 3 exercises for your biceps and 3 triceps and dont forget abou your delts n forearms. Maybe 1 exercise each if doing on the same day. We are similar in body size. I'm 5'8'', 180lb, 12%bf. My biceps recently got to 18''. Heres what works for me.
Alternating Dumbell Curls 5x5
Skull Crushers 5x5
Preacher Curls 5x5
Overhead Tricep Extension 5x5
Hammer Curls 5x5
Tricep Push Down w/V bar 5x5
Wrist Curls 5x mmf 12-15
Reverse Close Grip EZ Bar curls 5x5

I then dedicate a seperate day for my delts and shoulders. At the end of this routine my arms are shaking. I love it and it works great IMO. I do this routine once a week, do NOT overtrain your arms in an attempt to make them grow. They need time to heal.Good luck bro, hope this helps
 
Hey willy, if you cut down the body fat to 12 or so percent your arms will probably look a inch bigger.
 
Willy, have you considered changing up your workout routine a bit? I see you do 15 sets for bis and 15 sets for tris. You and I are similar size and weight and height. I personally prefer to do lower volume but higher intensity. It gets me a good pump and out of the gym a lot faster too. 6-8 sets high intensity should be enough to shock those arms into knowing they need to do something. Calorie-wise, as long as you are at or slightly above maintenance, you should be good. Just don't be in caloric deficit.

Arms dont take alot too grow training them more than once a week is retarded.

I only do 9 sets for bis, and 9-12 for tris depending, and my arms are like 19 1/2
