I know how to do the encoding. I just need the video camera.
Don't forget that many digital cameras can take short video clips. Lots of people have digital cameras. Many of them don't have sound, but that isn't an issue here.

ya but I think you have to have another accessory to upload the cameras video to your pc unless new phones can send it to email or something.

Who said anything about phones? I said digital camera, not camera cell phone with video capabilities. But yes, a cell phone with video recording capabilities would also work, assuming you had some method to get it to your computer.

My internet has been down since the hurricane, it just came back up. I didn't record a couple workouts after the hurricane, but here is what I've done since Sunday Oct 30th. I joined a new gym today and it is very nice; about 100x better than my last one.

Yeah, since I started the journal I hadn't done them. Before the journal I had been doing them for about 5 months strait. I considered it my leg workout and usually did them before some leg extensions and curls. Since I can deadlift so much more than I can squat I decided to take a break from deadlifting to work on my squat. In that last back workout I just wanted to see if I could lift 405 because I never had. I was pretty sure I could based on the ease of lifting 315 and I bet I could have added a little more. I did it sumo style where as when working out I usually have legs at about shoulder width. I know deadlifting is a great lift and I love doing them (and a lot more than squats) but it makes more sense for me to put it on leg day which I am going to now start with squats and follow with goodmornings. I normally like to start back day with pullups.

You're right, I lied. The truth was I didn't know what my 1rm so I extrapolated it from my working sets. I know it was wrong, sorry. :ugh:

Another thing you may have noticed is I havn't followed my 3 week DC like routine. I think that I would gain better by a weekly routine since I havn't done some of these exercises in years. When I feel like my muscles are getting used to all the exercises I will rotate my exercises weekly.

pb:

I am going to get that vid up my squat up, I really havn't found someone with a cam (including phone cam) I could borrow yet. It will be up asap. Untill then Im using the smith machine for squats so my knees don't kill me. I think I will have a cam on my next squat day (5 days from now)

When I record my squats I could do them powerlifting style, where my back is bent farther over and my knees don't go beyond my toes, or I can do it "bodybuilding" style where my knees do go over my toes and I use my legs more than my back. Both way hurt my knees although I think bodybuilding style is a little easier on them. What way do you want to see? Or do you want to see both?

all plers dont low bar squat with a big lean, me included. i'm high bar and fairly upright.

just film a work set from the side and and another from about 45°. squat as you normally do and dont doctor it up.

I found it interesting the vast difference in your squat and deadlift numbers. I would like to ask what your reasoning is for pulldowns to top of head only? Also, do you cycle touring style or in any races? I saw that you mentioned a 4hr bike ride and it made me curious.

I just took a bike ride with my friend and I do that every so often. I have a mountain bike that I just ride for fun. I can ride from my house to the beach and a lot of different places by the ocean, there is also a mountain biking park that I go to.

When I deadlift, my legs are FAR above parallel so I end up doing most of the work with my back. I neglected training my legs very much when I was younger. Also, my right knee can get in a lot of pain when I do normal squats. It gets really bad when I'm maybe 4-5 inches from parallel but when I'm above that I don't feel it at all. I think I may have injured it in high school wrestling by constantly slamming down on it for double leg takedown practice which we did a lot. Maybe I will see a sports medicine doctor someday and determine what it is. Recently, I decided to start working hard to get my squat up closer to my deadlift.

Smith Machine Box Squats 275x6, 275x5 (I use a bench to help me determine how far down to go, I don't sit down on it.)
Good Mornings: 205x6, 205x5
Pullups bw x5, bw x3
Close grip lat Pulldowns 70x13 (I did this immediately after the 3 pullups so it was like part of a drop set)
Cable Row 100x16

how high is the bench? measure it and see. most benches are too high to do box squats off of.

wheres the clip?

That was just because I chose the wrong weight. I never use momentum to swing the bar down really quick as far as I can. I always try to pause for around 1 second at the bottom. That time I could only pause at the top of my head, I couldnt get it any farther down while still being able to pause.
