Bench 275x5 315x3 335x2 360x1

I missed a third on 335 bad, my brother who was spotting me was taken by surprise as he thought i had four in me easy. Then went to 360 and hit it easy, than he laughed because he thought their was no way i was getting it. I just learned how to get a little leg drive but i have a hard time setting up properly and hitting three reps in good form with leg drive, my form fails on the last one. Dawg and PB do you guys see that alot. I was good for 370 today which i am happy about being i took a few months off and this is only the third workout back.

military off the pins. 185x5 225x3 240x2

JM presses 95x8 115x8 135x7 had more in my but i felt i tweaked my elbow a bit putting one of the plates on the military with one hadn.

tri pushdowns 1x25 1x15
side raises 2x12 25lbs

I was very very happy today, i should be back over 400 soon, especially once i put the creatine back in my diet.

very nice!
I got a tip recently about testing my max and i found it works:
be REALLY hydrated the day before and the day of trying.
it makes a big difference.

I will try that, i didn't plan on it, but i felt pretty good, and i felt like i finally got the leg drive down somwhat. The problem being now i can't hold form for more than 2 reps.

hmmm... for a few weeks, work lighter and really concentrate on your form. then work back up in weight. its the same principal for squatters that can't get to parallel... squat with less weight and go REALLY low, then gradually increase the weight and try to maintain that depth.

i have trouble myself from time to time with HEAVY reps , i tend to drive too much with my legs causeing me to slide on the bench and lose my arch/setup . part of this is my fault but a lot of this is a shitty vinyl bench cover that is very slick

nice #s, what do you wiegh in?

Right now i am a fat 265, i will get my strength back than get back down to 245-250 and work from their. I have found that when regaining where you once were is not easy if you are watching cals. I usually get fat during oct dec anyway.

My reps last time on flat bench were 7/1/1/1/6, started doing some non-100% 1RM singles to help get my strength up hopefully.

heres a half ass clip of proper set up. ill get a better clip up soon on a good set up for raw benching. heres kyle hitting 525 for 5 (he hit 555x4 this past weekend). notice the leg drive and set up. he slides well back on the bench, plants his feet then slides down the bench and leaves his feet back. this loads the legs so they ready to rock. the elbows in at the bottom and flaired at the top (incoporates lats) hands wide on the bar. big arch and shoulders pulled back.

I think my setup is good, especially for being new at this, the leg drive makes a huge huge difference, people don't even understand. My biggest problem like i said is staying tight into multiple reps. Nice vid though pb.

the more reps (esp if you shirt and not you skin is on the bench) the more out of postion you get. its unavoidable. try benching without a shirt on or wear a small tank top so you have skin on the bench. this helps to keep you from sliding. but it is tough to keep the shoulder blades pulled together on all reps. if i get stalled out the first thing i do is unload the shoulders to get it moving again.

glad you metioned leg drive again. you guys watch the leg drive on the push. the first thing that hits is the legs. drive the weight back towards you head with the legs. if you got a big tuck your ass will not come off the bench. in a meet if you ass does come up you get redlighted (lift no good)

crazy vid, i have been trying this for a few weeks now and it is really paying off for me. its good to see some good technics from exp. power lifters

thnks brother man..your a wealth of info now all we have to do is find you someone that will massage your prostate!!! lol

ive been trying to get that set up but ive never seen it done..i will be doing that next bench day..

Can leg strength hold you back from increasing on your bench? Just how influential is leg strength to increasing your bench press? Or do you not utlize enough of your legs to really have an affect on INCREASING your bench press?

Anyone can push with their legs, but if you aren't even training your legs then you should.
