Good to see ya back BFold. Long time no see.

Thanks...

I'm always around at least once every day or so, I just don't have a lot to post since most of my training is in strongman and is concerned with strength and performance.

I met Geoff at my last contest in STL in May...SUPER nice guy and crazy strong, especially in the events. I have some pretty crazy pics somewhere of him doing the events as well.

he actually started driving to our gym to get help on his deads. being an ex olympic lifter he was a bit lacking in this department. not any more.

yeah post the pics if you would.

just checked out your website. So you're living in cyprus and training alone ? Very impressive bro. Training alone AND hardcore requires a lot of mental fortitude and a desire to push the limits.

Good Luck.

did deads today and paid more attention to my form. No more bleeding shins here. :D

Hadn't had bleeding shins in a while until yesterday......went uber heavy though, and definitely didn't cheat myself this time.

Been living on the island of Cyprus for 3 months now...slowly adjusting. I've had my gym for about 2 months now...or so.

Training alone isn't all that bad. I just look around the gym and realize that nobody else is in my one room that smells horrible, no electricity or lights, no music, just me and the weights. Nobody to impress, no mirrors, just working towards a reconing with a few fellow competitors who doubt me.

A buddy of mine in the US made the rack for me...LOVE it.

I bought the weights here and there and had my implements made as well.

Just about the best buy was the squat bar from www.midwestbarbell.com. Extra long, super thick and strong, and I squatted a raw 625 on it the other day and it didn't bend at all...no whip either.

i like a little whip when i am squatting. the bar wraps around my shoulders. I like the secure feeling i get. =0) we got a jessup bar that takes at least 7 to bend it. we also have a texas power bar that bends at a about 5. i like the rigid bar for benching and deads and the whippy one for squatting.

bro wtf are you doing over seas?

My deadlift bar is an old Texas power bar...I've pulled over 7 on it and it has no bend...except when I dropped it on my box while squatting a few years ago and badly bent it...lol. I like thicker bars for benching but the stiffer bars for squatting seem to take the pressure off of my wrists and bicep tendons. Love it....

My better half works for the government here in Cyprus. Her job here pays more than 2x what we would have been making together had we stayed in the US.

i used to have probs with wrists and bis when squatting. it is easily fixed. dont grab the bar while squating i just rest my hands on the bar. this stops me from pushing up. i also run my hands all the way out. you a good size guy so you may find this helpful.

sweet on the girls money.
