PB: I used to do that. Arms used to be wrapped along the bar with the wrists folding over it at the end. But I just didn't find it stable enough going ATF with that. And I've got pretty big traps too.

Don't you find it a little wobbly getting out of the hole ?

A buddy of mine in the US made the rack for me...LOVE it.

I bought the weights here and there and had my implements made as well.

I had a couple of job offers overseas.....wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the weights once you get to the place ? What type of shipping did you use to get the rack across cheap ?

If you don't mind me asking, what's life like in Cyprus ? Economy/jobs, Social scene, people, beaches ?

thanks,
T

Id just rub some astroglide on my shins and thighs, powder up the hands, wrap up the straps and do some heavy ass deads!

depends on if you high bar or low bar squatting. i high bar squat as it keeps me more upright. if i miss a squat it is because i get stuck in the hole and not folded over half way up. i have more than enough back strewngth to handle whatever i can get going from the floor.

but n i feel very stable at the bottom. i can let my hands go and it will sit right there. i have grooves worn in my traps from the years of squatting.

get me a clip if you can i we'll have a look see.

make sure to get a shot from the side at knee level and a shot from behind also. one from the front would be nice. use a normal workout weight.

i used to have probs with wrists and bis when squatting. it is easily fixed. dont grab the bar while squating i just rest my hands on the bar. this stops me from pushing up. i also run my hands all the way out. you a good size guy so you may find this helpful.

sweet on the girls money.

My bar is wide inside...like a Pansanella bar (54.5" or more from inside collar to inside collar..thinking more). I also go as wide as possible on my grip and turn my pinky under the bar with my thumb. Works wonders.

The island here is about the size of St. Louis...the ENTIRE island. We have to have everything shipped in...so it is crazy expensive. My better half has a BMW Z3 and it was $90k+ here...compared to about 35-40 in the US.

If you want to live like an American here...it will be expensive. If you can live the life of a Greek Cypriot...it can be fairly cheap. Gas is over $4 a gallon as well.

I shipped everything that I own in a large shipping container. Whatever I could put in it for $4k. I brought all of my strongman equipment as well...not just my rack.

Economy? 24% unemployment yet everyone survives well.
Social scene? Well, with a 20 hour work week...you have lots of time to be social.

Beach: I can see the sea from my house as well as from my gym. When the water is up to your chin...you can still see your feet the water is so clear.

Beautiful women, beautiful beaches, amazing food, friendly people.
