hey guys ,i am curious if sleeping pm instead of am would make a difference in recovery as long as i am sleeping for the same time frame ,i am having exams and i tend to stay awake studying till the morning and then i go to sleep but i am not sure if that can affect me bodybuilding wise ,any info ??

As long as you are getting enough sleep to satisfy your body you will not inhibit recovery. I am a night person myself and rarely go to bed before 3am.

Often I get into a rut with insomnia and I'll sleep 4 hours in the night and 4 hours somewhere during the day. I know this is a total of 8 but could this be hurting my recovery since its not 8 hours straight through?

I had a schedule pretty similar to this spring term last year. It never affected me negatively.

It may affect how your body secretes certain hormones, i.e. growth hormone. Something to keep in mind. It wouldn't have a major effect if you only maintain that sleep pattern occassionally, but if it is for months on end it could have a more pronounced effect.

I heard the same thing. Also, if you go to sleep at a random hour make sure you keep it constant. Sleep loss is cumulative, so you really cant make up for getting bad sleep in a short amount of time. Just somthing to keep in mind.
