SL's 5X5 frequency

Hey all, what do you think about Strong Lifts 5x5? Am wondering if instead of doing it 3 times per week, I could do it EOD & take every 2nd weekend off. So I would lift Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun, Tue, Thur then take FRI, SAT & SUN off. Enough rest or recipe for overtraining? Keep in mind that this 5x5 has squats in every workout. My legs are of good size (30"), just not sure if they would take that much volume.
 
I don't know what strong lifts is so I can't comment.

If it's anything like Bill Starr's, 3x a week is more than enough. Any more than that and you're getting a less productive workout AND most likely not recovering well.

More is NOT better.

Keep in mind that pro athletes in the NFL lift weights once or twice a week during the season (depending on position). They do just fine.
 
Yeah, prolly right. That isa shitload of volume! Now that I see it wrote down, it does look fucked! I'll just stick with the original formula MWF, Sat & Sun off.
