I still can't believe i'm having a baby, let alone a baby girl. Never had a sister, only a brother. I'm thinking of a life that involves around princesses and ponies. Not that it's going to be bad. I'm excited to be a father.

Any of you bros have experience with a baby girl? tell me about it!

Congrats big man! I just had my second one just over a month ago. Its definitely one of the greatest feelings in the world. Followed by routine lol crying, feeding, changing, little sleep, spongebob, spongebob lol but its all worth it bud. My older daughter is about pink and being pretty lol

Lmao!! All about pink and being pretty. Oh man, i'm smiling ear to ear right now. I never thought i'd be excited for this girly experience, but i'm happy man.

I forgot about spongebob. I'm sure i'll be getting up to speed on these cartoons in the next few years. I had a niece that was into Dora the explorer. Not sure if that's still around.

Thanks for the congrats man.

Congrats!!!!! I have 3 girls and a boy, the boy keeps my sanity in check with sports and working out. I still don't know what to do with girls (my oldest is 13) all I can say is love her unconditionally the rest will fall into place. Good luck you'll be fine.

Congrats bro!! My little girl is now 7 weeks old. It's been a huge change of life style for me. The love you'll have for her makes all the late nights and crying worth it. I'm not sure what to expect either but I'll tell u that I'll give that girl anything in this world she wants and the first guy she brings home better be cool or he's in for hell.

Thanks guys! Yeah, i've thought about the boys coming over already. Man, there was only one thing on my mind when i was a young lad. Show em the gun collection?? lol.

It's truly a blessing to have one on the way. Man, i just never really thought of it being a baby girl! It's gonna be fun. I'll have to make another post after she arrives and let you guys know how it's going.

Yeah I know the boys are on the way (my oldest is to dang pretty) and all I can think is he better not be like me, but then I think he better be like me hahaha I think I turned out ok lol. I love the scene from bad boys two when the boy picks up the daughter, laugh every time hahaha

It takes a secure man to have a tea party with a 3 year old while wearing a yellow scarf and princess crown. I'll just leave it at that. ;) Remember, pink and ponies is a societal dictation on how girls should be, not how they need to be. I do recommend pink clothes when still an infant (it keeps embarrassing "oh, it's not a boy" comments down) but everything else is fair game.

Sleep. You better start stocking up on it now while you can. Young babies eat and sleep every 3hrs, and it's IMPOSSIBLE to make them conform to your schedule - so your life will be on a 3 hour clock for the first year or so. Kids are amazing and definitely bring happiness to your life. I swore up and down that I was having a son so I could teach him to hunt/fish/lift/slay poon. Now I get to teach my daughter how to hunt/fish/lift/make men cry as she crushes them.

You're in for a treat my man. :)

Funny how the standards change from boy to girl! Lol

Yeah, sadly it seems she's "training" me. "Daddy, come play in my rooooooOoOOooOmm!" Next thing I know is I have a sun hat on and am pretending to eat spaghetti while on a picnic. Thank god there aren't any cameras nearby!

Hahahaha! How funny is that!? I'm sure your daughter will always cherish those moments, as i'm sure you will too. Man, i'd never thought i'd say i'm looking forward to putting my sun hat on and eating spaghetti!

hahahaha. Thanks guys

Oh, and i've been constantly told that girls won't hesitate to fish and hunt. That's a surprise to me, but hey, i'm all for it. Whatever she wants to be, i'm in!

My girls love to fish but only if we put them back, they freak when I say we should eat one hahaha they like eating fish they just don't want it to be the one they caught lol. The more you do it with them the more normal it seams and they'll love the time spend with you. All my kids love cars but from the time they were little we went to car shows and they come work on cars with me in the barn, even my 3 year old girl will hand me screwdrivers hahaha

haha! how awesome is that!?

Congrats man! My daughter is an amazing little creature who is dysfunctionally fearless at times. I've heard people say girls are easier than boys and easier to potty train, but the jury is still out on that. I also had zero experience with girls, no sisters, no girl cousins etc. We had 5 generations of sets of two boys on my side of the family until my daughter and it's been awesome. Halfwit, I am there with you with the goofy princess stuff. I'm a combat vet, both Iraq and Afghanistan, Airborne Ranger, Special Forces Diver with 20+ years of rugby and football and I still melt when she tugs on my pant leg and says "Dada, I need you to come to pwwwwaaay room!"

Two book recommendations for you man: "Happiest Baby on the Block" and "Babywise" Read and heed; it got our daughter sleeping through the night 10 hours at 8 weeks and our son 9 hours at 12 weeks.

The first few months are going to be tough, but we've either been lucky with our kids (they are all different) or those books work. Consistency, just like running a diet.

Good luck!

My little girl just turned 3, your going to be the 'king daddy' to her 'princess' , get used to hello kitty, barbie and lots of dress-up. My daughters fav. is dressing up and a ballet princess fairy.. She will learn how to manipulate daddy like a master by age 3. Crayons everywhere, clothes and shoes everywhere.. pink and purple everywhere...

Yep, as awkward as the moments are - they are good memories to have. :)

Isn't that the truth!

Thanks for the book suggestions. I'm sure i'll be looking for guidance when they're waking me up every few hours. Just like you said, they're all different. Hopefully mine are the kind that love to sleep. If karma exists, i'm in for trouble.
