Squat injury?

Loaded Gun

Work In Progress
I did legs the other day and have not done squats in a long time, so I decided to start light on the smith rack. I finished legs and the next day my tailbone was sore. Now even a few days after, I was in a lot of pain and during the night I couldnt sleep well. I kept waking up because of the pain. I cant really explain what else it could be. When I tighten my glutes I feel the pain and sometimes during the day, not necessarily while sitting or anything in particular. Im just going to try some ice and maybe epsom salt bath then maybe heat. I have not done legs since then. Im totally not even sure what it is so any feedback is appreciated.

Thats another reason not to use the Smith Machine for anything!

No really, I remember having the same thing happen once and it went away pretty quickly. I definitely wouldn't squat in the meantime, hopefully its just a mild strain.

definetely leave squats alone for awhile. Not sure what this injury could be, but if it carries over into 2 weeks you should have it checked out.

Rest your back, & keep putting ice, epsom salt helps you relax the muscles, & if in pain take some Ibuprofen... Hope u feel better soon !

I appreciate the constructive advice and comments. I have since recovered. I took off from any squats. I did try epsom salt, heat pads, ibuprofen and just rest. It eventually worked out fine. I guess it was a mild strain or sprain... I think it was due to not doing squats in a while and just jumping right on that smith rack, which I have not been using anymore and I think that was some good advice. I don't plan on using the smith again for squats. I actually started back with regular squats and after about 4 days of being sore, I recovered fine and back doing legs like normal. I have been doing some cardio before my workout and that helps in terms of warming up. Thanks again guys/girls and hope this can also help someone else.

I think good idea to bag the smith machine. Not a fan of that one. Restricted range of motion limits normal dynamic arc that make free weights so good.
