squirting blood

Hey guys, today i just did my test injection (0,8ml) in the left quad, in the externe part. I've inserted the needle, i'va aspirate, seen no blood at all and then did the injection.

Everything was going well till i pulled the needle out... blood sprayed all over my leg and some even squirted off my leg. Pretty weird but didn't hurt, no bad taste in mouth or no caugh like when using fina, just some blood...

So i was just wondering if i just hitted a vein or a small blodd vessel and i'm curious; even if blood squirted out, do you think the test is still in the muscle?

Kinda odd that you didnt see any blood when you aspirated. I think you may have pierced an artery (hence the "spurting" of blood), but you injected in muscle tissue deeper to it.

Upon retraction of the needle, you let the holes you created spill their blood. The reason we can say it is an artery (and not a vein) is because it is "spurting" which signifies pulsatile pressure, a trait not seen in veins.

It probably resolved on its own due to a natural coagulation cascade and pressure from neighboring tissues.

Squirting blood

The same thing happened to me once. Scared the S*** out of me, but that was it, no cough, etc... Must have pierced a vein/artery in quad. It all worked out though!! Glad nothing bad happened! :blue:

To be honest, being the hypochondriac I am(damn am I in the wrong field for having that issue, eh?) I would have been in the ER screaming LOOK AT MY @SS!!!

Hopefully all is well, sounds like your body did its job though and sealed up.

yeah...i always taste the blood to see how much gear i lost... loosing the gear is what pisses me off also.

first time tho did freak me out i will admit

LMAO! I JUST got an artery this morning in my thigh! I'm saying blood was squirting out in long pulsating streams that hit the wall 2' beside me. Luckily, I've seen it plenty before, just put my finger on it and pressed on the puncture for about 1.5min, removed finger, no more bleeding so stuck band aid on tight. Went to do a side job polishing a black Cadillac cts (superchanged/compl custom) with no problems!(Lots of squatting/bending) It did get a lil achy after I sat down for a lil while. Anyways, just remember to stay calm, put pressure on it immediately and it will seal back up with in 2minutes and stick a band aid on tightly

Ha, this happened once to me as well. Blood spurted all over my white sheets, looked like something from Dexter.
