Stance for Squatting??

Not what I meant PB and you know it. Speaking on behalf of BBs here (not PLs like you), you will be hard pressed to find ANY top BB that goes farther than shoulder width. It substitutes the hips for quads in the lift - which is a BBs focus on the squats. Don't believe me, ask Tom Platz.

My point to the originator of this thread was that if he is BB'ing and is focusing on developing his quads specifically through squats (and not just trying to lift the most weight), his best gains and size will come from a narrow stance.

for quads thats true. i didnt disagree with that.

i disagreed with parallel squats. and that all plers squat wide.

most plers squat with a medium stance.

:D

but the most important aspect of theis conversation is your atavar.

very sweet

Good clip PB. Thats about what I squatt on a bad day. :P RIGHT!
I'll go back to about a shoulder width stance, want to work my quads more then anything. I always go deep wether its wide or narrow stance. Feel like a pussy cuz I can't lift as much but form is always more important then the weight youre throwing up. Thanks for all the advice.

I squat with a stance that the weight feels comfortable on my shoulders BEFORE I even start the squat. And that stance happens to be just slightly farther than shoulders length, and I make sure I go 90 degrees. I used to go down fast and bounce I found out real fast that was a mistake. But no matter the weight I start with it on my shoulders and make sure it feels comfortable where my feet are.
