Started TRT today being administered by primary care physician

Why? Because not starting with an AI? 100mg weekly get blood work after a total of 3 weeks on TRT then dial in protocol this seems to be a good start no?

I agree, the last thing you want to do is take an AI until you know how your body will react to the testosterone injections and crash your E2. If anyone advises you to take an AI before having bloods done to see what your levels are at is just plain irresponsible and giving you bad advice.

Congrats on finding a doc that is educated on TRT!

This doc is gonna give you E2 issues.

I was thinking about this the other day. What factors do doctors use to determine if a patient needs an AI at the onset of TRT or if it's something that should be considered after the first round of bloodwork?

Both protocols exist amongst the experts, but I wonder how they decide to add or withhold an AI. Some doctors/experts say that the patient's weight is a factor, and I imagine their pre TRT bloodwork E2 level plays into this too.

But then other doctors will tell you that lean guys can aromatize just as easily as bigger fellas.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Sorry for the thread hijack, just seemed like the right situation to ask.

Thank you. Looking forward to getting dialed in and feeling better.

Been following 3js diet and work out ppan he laid out for me for about a month lost about 10lbs but it's a struggle to do the 5 day cardio and gym without any real feeling of well being although today I seemed to have a bit more pep in my step maybe starting to feel the effects of first injection from 2 weeks ago.

Good for you, 3J will never steer you wrong! I noticed a little pep in my step after about two weeks, it is a great feeling when you start feeling alive again.

With E2 of 34 10 days out you can bet it had spiked out of range and will again after your next shot.

I bet it did to I felt good at the beginning about 3 to 4 days after injection then had some fatigue and hot flashes probably going to need an AI or do more frequent injections 50mg every other day what do you think?

They just got the results this morning before I went in for injection. Dr not in yet to review looking forward to a follow up to discuss options

EOD not really necessary with test cyp, I do 80mg twice a week. You may still need an AI at that dose, but it will be easier to tell because of the stable levels. Your tests after 10 days don't tell you that much about your peak levels.

I will wait for follow up with dr hopefully later today or tomorrow to discuss options on tweeking protocol, but should I get blood work tomorrow morning? This would show peak of tt and estridal?

I'm not sure that's worth it. I assume you're going to try to get away from 200mg in one shot, and using private bloodwork to rub under your physician's nose probably isn't wise either...

Wasn't planning on telling dr about private labs for my info but I can see what your saying about it not meaning much if I plan on switching to more frequent injections.

My e2 is probably going to be a bit over range with today's injection right?

I have armidex on hand but don't want to make any self adjustments but then again I don't want to be swinging all over. I know I know patience. I am really learning that here from the advice of others on this forum

Mprtz has given you good advice. You need to inject smaller amounts more frequently. Are you self injecting?

Also, for what it is worth, I shoe my doc private blood work all the time. I tell him how much cheaper it is. He is fine with that since it is so much cheaper. I would think your doc would be happy to have more information to review.

Dr. told me on my first visit that he would allow self injections after we got dialed in a little. This was the first blood work under his supervision and today was the second injection it was a scheduled appointment with the nurse pract. He wasn't in the office and hadn't seen the results hopefully I will hear from him tomorrow.

I work a funky schedule of 7 on and 7 off so I need to plan appointments 2 weeks in advance. Hopefully he will allow self injections after seeing these results. If I had them yesterday I would of insisted on seeing him bfore they gave me the injection.

Frustrating that I know what I have to do but I want to guide him to the same conclusion and let him tell me that the more frequent injection route is the best option since he is prescribing my TRT.

Had apointment on thursday with urologist to review blood work in post #28 and protocol. I said i would like the TT higher he said he would increase to 250mg every 2 weeks after we see what the next blood work is he wants a retest in December. I discussed self injections and he said ok. I discussed more frequent injections and he said the least amount of days he would suggest is 10. I wasn't going to argue with him so I said ok. I'm planning on doing 100mg every 7 days.

Should I wait till December for blood work? Or should I check in a few weeks to see where I level out?

Other than the first couple of days after the last 200 mg injection 2 weeks ago where I felt a little lethargic everything has been great. Increased libido, wood, and more energy all the time. Getting great workouts in the gym. This isn't just because of TRT I believe is has alot to do with 3js diet coaching. Getting told alot how good I'm looking is also helping LOL.

Thanks 3j!
