Tanning Bed Sensitivity?

Sassytassie84

Denial is not a river!
Hey guys! So it is that time of year again! Summer is coming and I have to get my *ss a nice color. Problem is... I do not know where it came from but whenever I am in prolonged sunlight or in the tanning bed I get hives wherever the sun burned me a little bit. Horrible hives. I went to the tanning bed for the first time in a year and wow, I am itchy as hell. I do not want to live a life in the shade! I know a lot of you peeps tan, anyone else have this prob? If so, is there any way around it? I googled it and what came up is Photosensitive (or allergic to UV rays). I live in SoCal! Allergic to the sun!? This prob just started a few years ago...

I've never had any problems like that. Be careful though I'd hate for you to get skin cancer or some shit like that.

You can always inject yourself with melatonin (?). Ask Phatty about it. Tan as a greek god...dess...without ever getting hit by one UV ray.

I have gotten like an allergic reaction type thing from a tanning bed before but thats it. I think it was because I was allergic to the lotion someone wore before me but I'm not sure. Every since then I make sure to spray the bed down well before I tan. I also use just a light mosituriser like lubriderm before tanning and after my post-tan shower.

Hmmm.... melatonin makes you tan? Or are you joking? I was thinking about this thread on my way home from work and I was like, damn I should have mentioned that I realize that you are all prob thinking I am a dumbass and just stop tanning. But I didn't realize how bad my sensitivity was until I went tanning today. Usually, I just get a few spots here and there. But after tanning today, I am covered in hives. I am so damn itchy. I have a base tan now so I'll just be spraying it from now on... dang.

It happens if I get sun burned outside too... so I know its my skin being sensitive to UV.

No, its melanotan, different from melatonin. Its a peptide that is injected sub q. Look it up.

no melonin gives you the pigment in your skin, melatonin is what helps you go to sleep

I looked it up and people are saying you get white spots, nausea and freckles/moles get darker and bigger. I am a little freaked out about it. Has anyone ever tried it for an extended period of time that can say what side effects it actually has? I am getting a lot of conflicting information.

Yeah, I looked it up as well, lol, and apparently, I have developed photosensitivity. Or allergies to UV rays. The tanning bed gave me a HUGE amount of hives. I am dying right now... BUT lol I am pretty tan after only 2 sessions! All joking aside, I am pretty damn miserable right now....

PHAT BASTARD SWEAR BY EM. hes also trying out for the open slot on jersey shore........:Pat:

lol

CABS HERE! haha I have a pic with Vinny. Tomorrow my friend is trying to get me to go to where Pauly D is dj'ing in Hollywood. I actually could care less about them. I think they are so dumb that it is funny. Except for J-Woww, she seems like a cool ass chic.

Because I am so pale, I turn orange. grr. Might be my only choice at this point though. Maybe just a small setting every once in a while to get a little color. Damn my skin! I used to be the brownest kid ever. :afro:

lol phat bastard will be the new situation and youll be the new snookie...i called it in the ass thread....
