Trt & self injecting

Just wondering how many of you that are on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) through a DR. are able to do your own
injections, instead of having to do weekly visits. Is it not legal or something that the DR. will not allow this. I can't put up with going their every wk or 2wks or even 3wks. I just want to know if anyone knows the answer.

I went to the doctors for the first couple months them asked him if I could do it myself and he gave me his blessing, that was like 6 yrs ago.

Like SCNTO said...go for a while. Get comfortable with him. Then ask.

Seems like youve been asking a lot from your doctor lately. I wouldnt push it too far.

my dr wont let me do them but my pharmacist is only a few blocks away and he does them for free.

No Stone i don't have to pay for any shots or blood work! but if i have to see the doctor, then I'd probably get charged for an office visit. Luckily my insurance covers it and
its a hell of a lot cheaper than androgel.

"PERFECTION" I have been going to this DR. since 1994 the only excuse he has gave
me was its a controlled substance. The nurse said the same thing when i asked her today. My answer to her was, wasn't the Androgel ? along with most other prescription
drugs ? She said ! your right, I'M just telling you what the DR. told me.

DADAWG what is the reason your DR won't let you do your own. I guess i could under stand if i was younger and he may have suspicious thoughts but i wouldn' think that
at 47yrs old ? or is it a money thing that they can't charge the insurance for every shot
they give.

I went once to my doctor, he showed me how to inject (like i didn't know) and have been doing it on my own ever since. Its not illegal for your doctor to let you do it at home.

I told my doc that I had done a few cycle and was used to injections. He gave me a scrip and told me I could inject myself. It would drive me crazy to have to go to the dr. once a week!

I've been going to the doctor every 4 weeks for a shot, but I want to start doing it at home. The doc said it would be OK to have my wife come in at my next appointment so he can show her how to do the shots, but she's reluctant.

How hard is it to self-administer?

want2grow - you really should check to see if every 4 weeks is suitable. I do not think there is any test that has an ester that allows for such long gaps b/t dosages. Do you notice any drop of energy the week prior to your shot.
My Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) doc lets me inject myself and it is no problem at all.

Yeah, I've been thinking I need to see a new doctor. I do notice the mood swings and low energy...I'm dragging my feet usually by the time I have a new appointment.

Currently I see my Urologist (per my PCP), who gives me 400mg per shot. Used to be every 3 weeks, now he's stretched it out to between 4 & 5 weeks between. If you missed my previous post on the other thread, he basically told me that his focus is to stop muscle loss. As for the other issues, he handed me a sample of Levitra.

:dunno:

I'm thinking I should find an Endocrinologist.

My wife takes care of my weekly injections for me....she hates doing it, but enjoys the benefits just as much as I do. :naughty:

How do you know when you are injecting too much or not enough

I would like some help on how much is enough.
Reading all the threads, On the average it looks like about 100mg 1wk of injectable test
seems to be the norm for the guys on TRT.
For myself with that being said, my total test level averages from 900- 1500 ng/dl
the free test average is like 155 pg/ml . MY Estradiol average is around 45-50 pg/ml. At this amount being taken, it is at the top of and even higher than what the norm is supposed to be.TOPS is like 1080 ng/dl in the
reference range. So my question is for those out there that are taking 200 mg per wk what kind of Testosterone blood level are you averaging if known?
Has anyone benefited any fat loss? I have seen none. Also no real strength gain! What will happen if i were to increase to 200 mg a wk ? I have no known side effects other than raised estrogen and a few pimples once in awhile. Your suggestions would be helpful about larger dosage.I really need to get rid of some body fat also. Taking Test
Enthanate.ALL DONE through doc so i dont know how to get script s for any thing like
ESTRADIOL .....ECT.

What do you mean? Didn't you ever shoot yourself with gear before? Or am I missing something here?

LOL, yeah you missed my earlier post in the other thread.

No, I've never done it, since I'm not a bodybuilder. I have naturally low test and have been lurking around here trying to learn from the experts on the issue.

My doc is trying to boost my test up to a normal level, but I don't think it's really working. Got no energy, no stamina, and no strength. The 400mg every 4-5 weeks isn't cutting it...which is why I'm thinking I need to self-administer on a weekly basis. Never done it before. My next appt is in 1 week, I'll ask him then.

Oh...and...YEAH I'd love to one day be able to work out seriously and grow some muscle...but right now I just want to feel normal again.
