Upper Chest

volume sucks rocco!most people will not grow from high volume period.get that volume shit outa your head!low volume high intensity.meaning heavy as hell with low set/reps.2 heavy worksets of 3-5 will do it nicely.use as many warm ups as needed.

There are ample poeple including my slef that will disprove your theory and disagree with it. But your entitled to your own opinion.

One thing I would like to carify is that I and most high volume people count their warmup sets, thus adding to the volume of the workout.

Also speaking only for myself on this one I found that that depending on the excersize and the muscles i'm hitting low rep/ heavy weight do not always cause me to grow.

Did you feel it in your chest more?

OK...here is my take on the matter. Your chest is made up of basically 2 muscles....
1)The Sternal Head

and the

2)Clavicular Head

Now since the Sternal Head is basically the entire chest and you cannot spot build a muscle...I don't believe in the notion that inclines will develop the upper chest. Inclines will build your Clavicular Head but I don't think it will be noticable because it is a small muscle. Heavy, overall chest exercises that build mass is the key. Genetics are a huge roll in the shape of the overall muscle regardless of size.

Why all ya'all gotta make everything so complicated?

PA: Get a big bench and you'll have a big chest.

I agree but i started doing inclines first and it made a big difference in the upper portion.

Actually the whole chest as well.

I never use a BB anymore and that has made a difference as well.

So you don't do inclines?

No...

What I am saying is I don't believe you can build the upper portion of a single muscle. You can only build the whole muscle and then genetics takes over as to how it proportions the muscle. This is what I think...I may be totally wrong.

PB...instead of dreaming about the crotch area of the picture I posted...what is your take on this?
