Weak hamstring in comparison to quads

Over yrs, ive noticed that the front of my legs(quads) are much much stronger relative to the back of my legs(hamstrings).
Probably because in the past, ive been making the mistakes of loading up too much poundage on the leg press machine or squat bar and then going only nearly halfway down on each exercises (half squat as some would say)
Could it be the reason why my quads too big in comparison with my hamstrings?
Any suggestion how to correct this?

Ive starting to do full ROM but i cannot load that much poundage...and due to that..i feel my quads wont grow...
Any suggestions??

What type of exercises are you doing for hamstrings and backs of the legs alone?

Sometimes you have to drop the weight down and build up, you shouldnt loose too much muscle in your quads. But if you let your hammys continue to lag and your quads continue to grow you have a greater risk of injury especially if you are lifting heavy.

im doing the hamsting machine curl...4 sets of 15... i will change my workout and start going all the way down on squats and leg press from now on..

no bro-you need to do Straight Leg Dead Lifts for the back of your legs.

i like to do

squats
hack squats
SLDL

when you do your squats, stay on your heels and go all the way down-this will bring the glutes into it

I'm focusing more on my hams right now
as well. I have split my leg day in half.
(quads on chest day,
hams and glutes on back day)

For hams/glutes i am doing the following;

Parking lot lunges x3
SLDL's x4
1 leg smith lunges x4
Leg curls x4 or 5

So far, this has fried my hams the last 3 weeks in a row. Hope this is useful.

Now that sounds like a good workout!
