What a Joke!!!

Do they provide any sort of useful training? For example, if I were to go in and tell them my liver is "angry" are they going to be trained to suggest NAC?

they have training designed for all products that you must pass quizzes over... so as long as the manager is doing his job all employees should be up to date on the training which includes supplements for organ health. i think the majority would probably recommend milk thylse.

17 year old me would have bought that in a heartbeat. I was the king of test boosters when I was in high school.

Lol, I remember when I first started getting into the BBing scene I would buy the magazines and would see all the pros n adds with protein powders and whatnot. So, I thought this must be how the got the big so I went out and bought some and didnt gain a pound!! So naive, makes me laugh now.

Their training is usually done on a computer and it is not to informative. Plus it is bias information they are training employees with. GNC like said earlier does have a few good well informed employees but they are hard to come by. The normal sales associate is trained to help the most basic of needs and thats it.

This reminds me of when I was just getting into bodybuilding - back in the Muscle Media days...

I would read ads from BB magazines and think how can this stuff be true - but the writing really
pulled you through... line-by-line... all the way to the order form.

As the years passed by I ended up getting into the marketing world and discovered many of those
ads (the good ones) were written by some of the best copywriter alive today.

Bodybuilders just happens to be one of the most influential people to sell to. Go figure!

If anyone remembers Costa's Snake Oil years ago called "Fortis Plus"... I just came across this
after looking for a few older ones.

The only one that really got me to order back then was MET-RX when you could only get it by
mail order... which happen to be a good product anyway.

I'm not sure who wrote the ad from this forum... the sad thing is... many people will see that ad and expect those results! :Pat:

It's unfortunate that most people don't actually read a label, and then if they aren't familiar with the substances do some google searches and find out what a product is really made up of. That's the first thing I do is look at the actual ingredient list (I hate proprietary blends that do not disclose the individual amounts of each substance).

I'll add to the useful otc supps list BCAA's, EAA's, Glutamine, and a few of the nitric oxide/preworkout ingredients that can help with workout performance. In general though most otc workout supplements that promise any muscle building, etc are all crap. Anything that actually worked was banned.

My favorite is when it says proprietary blend and lists nothing. How do people buy crap without knowing what is in it.

Hahah, that's the way. Add in some testo 180x and your good to go lol.

Edit: I suppose I shouldn't poke fun, I was actually just running fake var LOL... turned out to be dbol :(

Welcome to the club. It was for my wife and I decided to test it out before she used it. Good thing I did!

I hate when in the write up of a supp they list an ingriedient that you know is good but then when you get it in the mail it isnt that at all... as in false advertising ..... ephedran haha!
