Either naturally or while on the juice, I was wondering what everyone considers to be benchmark lifts for excercises such as bench, squat, deadlift, military etc. I'm talking about lifts that made you think that were finally running with the big dogs! Were you pumped the first time you put up 225 naturally on bench? How about 315? 405? Over 500 etc.? These can all be natural or while running gear.

500+, my pr is 520. 700+ squat, my best is 710, I rarely go heavy on deads ussually 405 cuz of my back, and 315 on Military is my best for 4 reps.

Bro what is up with a 500 bench and a 315 deadlift? Its not rare to see someone do that their first day in the gym.

I guess for me a 225 bench was my first really exciting day. I started lifting at 11 and I could not even bench my little 108 pound set.

I would have to agree....the first time I hit 225# was amazing. 4 - 45# plates on the bar never looked so cool. Now, 315.

i think it's all relative to what stage of lifting you're in. when i graduated high school i was pumped when i benched 135!! a few years later 225 was a milestone. then 315 a year or so ago. last thanksgiving i joined the 400 lb. club (405 actually).

same w/ sqatting. 225 was my big one, then 315, now 400...

I hit a 300 bench at 16 and never have done 400 due to a my shoulder having issues. That seems to be getting fixed now. I should have broken a 600 lb deadlift by now, but poor planning and a couple muscle pulls have not allowed me to do that. I will be content the day i bench 500, squat 700, and pull 700.

ya just gotta keep growin... by next year this time i want to be creepin up on 500--on my bench and squat. (un)fortunately for me i'll be benching it before i am squatting it.

HA HA ! I doubt it!! Unless you are different than the rest of us, once you get those numbers , a few weeks later you'll be wondering if you can get 510, 710, 710...and so on. Thats what makes lifting such an addicting sport...it is never good enough. You always have to outdo yourself...and the guy next to you whose creeping up on your max.

Someday I will reach that one point when I just cant do anymore.....when that day comes (assuming i know it when it comes), then I will be satisfied.

I'm working towards a 400 lb bench right now. The 1st time I did 225 I think I got a boner. Then 315 was exciting as well. I tell myself that if I hit over 400 I will be satisfied, but I know I'll want to go for 500. I agree w/you fr8, and I just hope I can reach a point where I will be happy. I'm happy where I'm at, but you always wonder how much more you can get.

that only 100 away froma 2000 total . that puts you in a pretty exclusive club ;)

I remember putting 4x 25s on each side of my old standard 6 foot bar at home for the first time and hitting it for a couple reps. That damn bar was bending under the load and I thought it was cool, realistically it was 218 and not really 225 but that was a landmark for me as a youngin.

225 was cool to do in highschool, but too many little dorks out there could put that up. I think I was like 150lbs when I did it, so it was a pretty good acomplishment. I think 315 is a really good benchmark. It's not a shit load of weight, but not too many people can bench that.

My first benchmark that I always looked forward to was when I could do 225 for reps on bench. That day came and I was lovin life! Then I couldn't wait to hit 275 for reps....that was a great feeling. Then I couldn't wait to do 315 for a max....just got 335 up yesterday and damn it felt good! :D

Benchmark for me was going from maxing with 100lb dumbells on flat, to 130's for reps during first cycle.
