What's best to eat on cheat days?

I absolutely fill out after that cheat.

that's such a cool feeling. I experimented with the Anabolic Diet a while back and the highlight of my week was sunday night after a weekend carb-up. Felt like my skin was going to burst my muscles were so full
 
Jumping into this convo a little ... I'm on a low carb diet ( under 30 a day) and the diet Plan I'm following says have a cheat meal. But I'm also following it more geared near Atkins. But Atkins says no cheats because u will fall out Of keto. Anyone care to better school me. It's been 3 weeks on this diet.

To bring it down even lower. And the theory behind it makes alot of scenes to me about your body burning fat as a primary fuel source
 
Low carbs I can't do at all. Pizza is a staple and I still have abs. Steak is so good it counts for everything add some sweet potatoes with cinnamon/brown sugar/butter. I was never a fan of sushi but a new place opened by me and damn they have some good sushi. That's gotta be about perfect.

Ahhhh I forgot sushi! I usually do a big sushi cheat about once every couple months - the only problem is I always feel so dried out from the sodium the next day.
 
I wish I had abs. It's been a goal forever. This low carb shit is supposed to be the fastest and cleanest way to lose fat I hear. Not to mention I do an hour cardio 5x a week.

Look up Cyclical Ketogenic Diet. This form of Keto (low carb/atkins) diet allows for refeeds once per week where the dieter reloads his carb stores.
 
THere really is not a "BEST" cheal day food or meal per se.....as it all depends on your unique situation (dieting and plateau'ed in single digits bf) , Mass gaining and have a blazing metabolic rate + use lots of compounds to off-set fat mass accrual, so ANY calories are needed....

I personally cheat EVERY NIGHT right now, due to me eating very clean throughout the day --MEANING--steak and jasmine rice cooked in coconut oil for 4-5 meals....then my post workout pineapple juice + liquid egg whites + whey iso shake.

After those are accomplished. I research 500mcg ghrp-6 + either ketotifen or periactin and devour homemade pizzas + ice cream or boxes of cereals etc....

Sushi as cheat day??? Maybe cuz of the rice. But I eat sushimi on a regular.

depends on what kind you eat - I can keep sushi pretty clean (sashimi or nigiri and some of the more simple rolls)...but I also like shrimp tempura rolls and some of the other fried stuff. Also, the soy sauce is super high in sodium, but you can get low sodium at most places. You can go either way with sushi...just so happens my favorite stuff is the stuff that isn't so great for you.
 
Going to South Philly and tearing up a 17 inch Bellybuster Cheesesteak with extra fried onions.

For those of you that have not had one you are letting one of the best things in life pass you by.
 
I never get cheat DAYS but I do get one cheat MEAL per week. My nutritionist likes me to eat as much as possible of whatever I like for that one meal however I must eat my 5-6 other planned meals for the day as well.

yep. me too. sometimes I go 2 weeks.
 
On cheat day there is no better I think. Have whatever you want just don't be an asshole and eat a gallon of ice cream. Whatever you have a craving for eat. Get the craving out of your system and you'll have an easier time sticking to the diet.
 
This is what I did and found it very hard to get all of the planned meals in.

Yup, its tough.

I'm at 7 meals per day and adding carbs this week. All of a sudden, cheat meals and carb loads don't sound so good. However, I do like to do my cheat meal on a training/cardio day because I'm a bit more hungry. I will do the cheat the second to last meal of the day then all I have to do is drink a shake and have some PB for my final meal.
 
Heavy Iron just curious about your cheat day. You eat all of your normal calories same macro's as far as your daily intake on your timed meals. But whatever you want for your cheat and just eat anything you want so you just eat more calories or within calories? I like how you have just 1 meal as opposed to the day. I feel like doing the whole day just pulls me off
