HEY ALL. What is the most effective way to shock you're shoulders into becoming big as boulders and wide? I do alot of the stripping method and always either dumbell presses or military. What is more effective...behind the neck or in front? And how many sets should you do in you're entire workout?
Thanks.

do them after chest workouts before tri workouts..

hit them with low reps but heavy weights..afterwards hit them with laterals..

as your bench goes up..so will your shoulders grow

behind the neck is not advisable..

chest/shoulder/tri is a very effective way to bulk them baby up..give it a try

I find I use up my shoulders when doing chest or back so I won't do shoulders on the same day. I give shoulders a day on their own with some arms and at least a day of rest since my last chest or back work out.

Deltoids and the rotator cuff muscles really only comprise a small amount of your total muscle mass and it is easy to overtrain them. Same goes for arms. I just use one pressing movement whether its bar or dumbells, free weight or machine. No more than 3 sets. Then a rowing or reverse fly movement with a relatively light weight to concentrate on form and really isolate the rear deltoid or just burn the delts (say with laterals). Again only 3 sets. Finish the shoulders with 3 sets of shrugs. The arm workout them follows or just do that another day.

This is what really confuses the hell out of me. Many of the guys that have been doing this(lifting) for some time, will comment and say that if you're doing 2 areas a day, and say you workout 3 days a week, that the seperate day for shoulders/other body area will be similar to overtraining. I'm guessing that one doesn't need to train shoulders as long as you're doing an exercise that involves working them through another body part? A perfect example is the benching you guys were talking about. I hope someone can come up with a 3-day a week routine where you can hit 2 seperate areas and not put a taxing on your shoulders. Thanks

*But alas, I fear this is a mystery that will go unsolved*

I train my shoulders after bench. Seems bench, especially incline works my shoulders REALLY well. I mainly focus on rear delts cuz my fronts have gotten so large after heavy benching.
thats just me though.
try rear laterals, side laterals, shoulder press, arnold press
I usally just do my benching and then rear laterals and some side lats and arnold press if my shoulders will still take it
don't forget rotor cuff work!!
G'luck

i hear ya...during my shoulder routine i dont even target my front delts. I do all mid and rear delt workouts, bc my front are huge from bench. Almost out of proportion.
