LOL, dont forget im in Europe bro, now the USA scene?

I dont have a damn clue about it. I heard they even have different weight classes and rules to us Europeans but who knows I havent got a clue about how it works over there.

i know kara and mike miller (the guy in the pic)i have lifted at meets where she attended. i know her boy friend jay also. I also know pricila ribik, another great female lifter.i also know julie scanlon 435 bench @ 165. i know becca swanson 501 bench at 240. karen sizemore hit a 450 @ 250. Paula Suzuki hit a 402 @165 . Chao Chen-Yeh has a 419 @ 260. the last five woman are in the record books. i also know amy vaughn (148er squats over 5) all of these woamn where wearing bench shirts. not raw. i wouild say becca is the only one who could hit a 400 raw out of the bunch.

uh for your info benching is not a lift in olympic lifting.

I am a competitive powerlifter with an 805 squat, 585 bench and a 675 dead.

I used to train with an olympic lifter. so i know a little about it.

now what kinda numbers you puttin up?

oh and by the way arnie is not my god. i could care less about BBing. I train a few BBers who want to put on mass but other than that could care less about the sport. i have no desire to walk around all shaved up, stained and wearing a thong. but hey if it floats someone's boat have at it.

So then why post such bullshit insulting other peoples intelligence when you know next to nothing yourself?
I just went through your posts and your argument is completely invalid.

I remember reading about her around 10 years ago when she was in the 300s, I thought that was amazing.

:laugh4:

One thing to take note of, is with the many different lifting organizations with their own rules, it can be difficult to track "records."

Well, I'm 205 and max ~365. Hopefully I can get to 2x bodyweight this summer.....

its gonna happen if you dont overtrain you shouders. thats the biggest culprit to a big bench. 365 at 205 is impressive. congrats bro.

Yep remember that back then Ted Arcidi was I think the first guy to break into the 600s, guys back then were not benching like they are today.

Ronnie supposedly can get into the 700s raw if you go by his 225x75, then you have Kovacs, and there was Trevor Smith (RIP). A lot of guys however now days probably haven't even done free pressing for a long time, Lee Priest and numberous others have hurt themselves doing it, a lot of guys use machines.

trvor was an animal. he took HIT to another level.

Guess I should read an entire thread to see where it's gone next time before I respond huh??? lol.

Anyway, PB, thanks but I don't consider that too good for my size, only because I could push 350 last summer, at ~185. My bench has only gone up 15-20lbs while I've gone up the same amount of bodyweight. Thing that gets me about the whole deal is, I've put over 3/4 inch on my arms and 3 inches on my chest, and my dumbell bench has gone from maxing 85's when I pushed that 350 to repping 110's (3x8 yesterday), yet my barbell bench press hasn't gone up proportionally. Hell, I've tried everything I can possibly think of, but I'm at a loss.

Only thing I'm left with is that my problem is ENTIRELY in my head, as about 3 weeks before maxing 365, I pushed 325 for a double, without a spotter present. I just don't get it -- I mean, I get myself mentally ready, and still fail on any weight heavier than 365.

What is a good example of an adequate shoulder routine that isn't overworking?

I have an entire routine posted in the dead lift sticky. read the entire sticky as there is some great stuff in there (a little bs) a routine and some of my workouts. fee free to post you workouts in there as well. get back to me after you read it.

The argument was there are women in the 180 pound range able to bench press 400 pounds, he said there wasnt, he just posted 5 females weighing less than 180 pounds who are benching 400 pounds so he just proved my point right, damn im proud of him.

On the other hand none of these were EUROPEAN OLYMPIC LIFTERS but then again with him being in the US ten thousand miles away I doubt he would have heard of the European talent so I dont blame him for not knowing what happens out here.

You said raw.

And olympic lifters will be worse than pls at benching.

read closely...I don't see 5 names of ladies who hit over 400 weighing in the 180 range...There are only two women under 180 lbs that hit over 400. I'm sick of this thread already, I just shouldn't have bothered either.
