no, it may be best to rest a day between but a mon/wed/friday should be fine.

i break mine down like this

day 1, upper abs
day 2, obliques
day 3,lower abs
day 4 , off
then repeat

just one exercise 3 sets per day, focus and squeez get them burning

works great for me

for me, regular sit up seem to get upper abs more. for lower(idk what its called) i lay on a bench with my upper body all the way on it but i have my legs hanging off, so basically sit on the edge of it then lay back. then i lift my legs up and hold them straight out then lift in the air. some time i do it with weights hanging sometimes not

u would be surprised how many successful bodybuilders don't do any ab training at all... it makes sense actually... because the stronger a muscle gets the bigger it will get and that is fact... everyone has abs, every single person on this earth, its just that our bodyfat usually never gets low enough to see them...

if you're deadset on ab training I would recommend high reps without resistance... the v-taper is a much better look than big, chunky abs that look like a beer gut...

just my opinion, but I'm sure there are guys that agree

IMO i think dudes look weird as shit when they got some broad ass shoulders, veins popping and no abs. they are def apart of the "complete" body. plus if you ask a chick i'd say 7/10 say its the sexiest part of your body. you are not going to see a mr universe ect not doing abs either. usually its everyday 5 sets of 25 or so.

No disrespect.

There are no absolutes..you pick out what works for you.
I do mine 1-2 a week. You work abs when you stand up, sex, play frisbee..etc. I do 12 sets..non stop.
Stick twists, crunches, leg lifts, oblique crunches left right side repat x3.

Ab s are made in the kitchen, on the aerobic s machine etc.

Don t matter how oftern you do abs if your bdyfat is high..other than the aerobic burn off it s to each his own...

I M O.

non taken. when i said 5 sets of 25 sit ups i was referred to arnold, at least that is what is says he did as a routine in his book. yeah i only do abs 1-2 times a week.3-5 exercises 3-5 sets each. I do cardio every day tho also, along with basketball. My bf is a little over 15 though right now so my stomach just looks bigger. you can tell its not full of fat though because it doesnt hang and its larger right under my pecs not to mention solid. besides my shoulders its the most developed part of my body.

i used to do 2 diff exercises 3 sets each everyday along with cardio and bball everyday. I think thats when it developed the most though. I also beleive that doing different exercises everytime helps a lot. Im noticing on chest day that my exercise isnt cutting it anymore. i gotta figure something out besides benching and flyes.

truu i also forgot to emphises the importance of having your bf% low, thats needed to get your abs to pop and show, also yes u work your abs doing everything, squats deads bench all that shit , some people never work them and have decent abs but my genetics dont allow that so thats why i break mine down like i do and it works for me. all about slow concentrated squeezes.

there are a million diff ab exercises lol, everyone of them will hit upper and lower and obliques but its how u squeeze and concentrate to really isolate and focus on ie' lower or upper

u got to try diff shit and really see what works for u

heres an example of mine

lower - hanging legs raises - slow and focused and none of that swinging bullshit, most people cant do them slow and squeeze at the top, might want to do a machine to build them up, they have one at my gym thats like a leg raise machine and it hits greaaat on lower abs, when doing machine stay with bitch weight and really use good form and make them burn

upper - i do the rope on the cables and crunch with that, also alot of diff machines they have, and the the yoga ball on a bs day if i feel lazy or rushed out of gym, that thing burns

obliques - i only do 2 different exercises, either and dumbell or plate holding on one side standing and crunch to the opposite side, and with a handle on the cables the same motion, i do top handle and the bottom handle

hope this helps lol or gives you some new ideas, and keep you diet on point and start hitting cardio to drop that bf if ur bf is whats holding u back

Planks are important too. Raise your feet on top of one of those half round balls which have a flat plastic bottom to them. Creates additional stability issues for all areas of the abdominal region.
I like weighted ab exercises then rotate to exercises like planks & slow controlled bicycles ect. On non weighted exercises I only rest 20 seconds between sets.
If your diet is in check you should see your ab region outline @ about 14% then as you get down to 10 or below your squares come into view. That's generally speaking.
I try to hit abs with cardio days 3 times a week.
