Ask Anything You Want about TRT Thread........

I thought it said many supplement it to get into the top end of the normal range.

Just FYI in case anyone could benefit from my $40 investment - I added a progesterone test to my latest blood test and it shows that my 50mg per day puts me at:

1.4 0.2-1.4 ng/ml

So, right at the top of the range for this lab (which I sincerely hope reflects that I am male). I do find it a bit confusing since some of the searches I've done have listed the range for males at 15-100 pg/ml - by contrast my 1.4 ng would by 1400 pg/ml. Medline says "less than 1 ng", I am above that.

Anyone have one good authority what a normal range is for men?

I don't think our lab tests for that, but i'll look and see in the procedure manual and let you know.

Sorry. My lab doesn't perform that test.

Do doctors just let you take one of those Private Labs tests on your own and then bring the results to the doctor for some diagnosis and treatment if necessary, or do doctors want you to have the test done through their own medical group's lab?

My insurance will most likely not cover these specific blood tests, the most important tests a man could take, so if I could spend a hundred or two out of pocket instead of three to four hundred after getting dicked around by Blue Cross Blue Shield that would be better. However, if my doc would just look at the lab results and treat me like a junkie for wanting some medical treatment then I'll make an appointment and explain my symptoms and ask about hypothyroidism or some other beating around the bush so he doesn't think I'm concerned about my health enough to actually research trt but just concerned enough to happen to bring it up during my yearly physical.

I share my private lab results with my doctor. I just give him a copy and he is fine with it. I just told him the cost and he couldn't believe how much cheaper they were. I have been seeing my doc for 15 years though and have a good relationship with him. A new doctor may be more hesitant.

I get Clomid with my trt protocol. 50mg 2x week. (adex rx as well)
is this common?
how does Clomid work to keep testicular function?
is hcg better?

my balls have not atrophied so far. been on trt a few months.
I think I get some depression from the Clomid though.

thanks

DET

I've noticed less than 500 i.u. of HCG per dose does nothing for me.
Do you think there is any difference in E3D or E4D administration of this dose while on TRT ?

So I have question as well, I'm 28 yr old and my test level is around 350, my doctor prescribed me Test C- 200mg once a week. Do I need to take HCG or AI along with it? and I'm planning on taking Test E- 200mg twice a week, so total 400mg every week Once I start taking TEST-E, should I stop taking TEST C ?

Thanks in advance

not really, just spread it out 2x per week and you should be good! i agree on the less than 500 not doing much, hcg even mores than other meds is patient specific.

hope this helps

You should follow your doctor's protocol. What you are proposing is a blast. He will know that you are taking more than prescribed and probably cut you off.

As for hCG and AI on your 200mg of Test Cyp per week: some guys take hCG and some don't. Are you thinking of having kids in the future? There are other benefits of hCG as well.

AI depends on every person. There is a good chance your will need an AI on your 200mg dose, but the only way to know is by checking our Estradiol via blood work. Run blood work often in the beginning to help you get "dialed in".

hey guys i just got back from the low t clinic should be getting my results back tomorrow. Im 43 I did a cycle of deca when i was 20 and a few cycles of androstenedion when i was 33 both worked awesome and the gains stuck. On the androstenedion I went from 180 to 265 in the course of about a year of off and on androstenedion cycles. I stopped taking it when it was banned and stayed between 225 and 250 for a long time. Last year i met a girl and we had a lot of sex.The effects were like a reverse andro.I went from 225 to 175 over this past year. I feel all sucked up.I cant make any real good gains because of all the sex and no androstene. I still hump like a teenager though seriously i can go for hours with a solid erection no problems with the tool.It just sucks because I loose weight and muscle mass from it now days. Not to mention the empty feeling after I cum. Ive heard of male menopause and i think Ive got it. I can make gains naturally lately Ive done it but it doesnt last very long pretty much only till i hump again then its back to skinny and all sucked up.I really dont want to get into a situation where i always need the test but I also dont want to be sucked up all the time. Any advise you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Im at a crossroad here that I might not be able to turn back from.

Thanks I just saw your response now, I didn't even know when my post got approved lol..but anyways thanks for the response, but I have gotten my blood work three times and I don't see Estradiol on it..do I need to ask my doctor specifially to check for estradiol when getting my blood work? and also my TEST levels went down..instead of going up..I've been on TRT for month and half. not sure what's going on there either .

Your TT would go down at first as you are shutting down you Natty T and building up your Exogenous T levels. But after 6 weeks you should be decent at 200mg per week. Are you positive that you are injecting 200mg per week? What is the strength of your test cyp per ml and what volume are you injecting weekly?

Tell them you want to check your estradiol. Demand it if you have to.

I got my test results from the clinic and I am not eligable for trt as i am at over 500. I stated before that over the years i have used deca and androstenedion. But i havent used anything since 2004. Now im going to get back into the gym and train naturally. My attempt to get on the t didnt pan out. Any suggestions on diet or supplement i can try in the gym for gaining muscle? I wanna gain weight and power. I like to use injectables while training and was thinking about getting some b12. The only problem is im not sure which type brand or dosage to use .Ive seen a lot of it for sale on amazon.Any suggestions on a natural t booster or product i can try for motivation in the gym?

What a great thread. I've read about half of it trying to educate myself on TRT. 6 weeks ago my primary care doc tested my T and I was at 265. He started me on 5mg Testim daily (topical), but after a few weeks I didn't see much of an improvement, and a friend recommended a Doc who specialized in wellness therapy. He had me do a saliva test during an entire day. I spit into a plastic tube 4 times throughout the day. When the results came back, I was over 2000 total T. He changed me to a local pharmacy's formulation of Progesterone 5mg/Testosterone 10mg daily (topical). He also prescribed Hydrocortisone 5mg daily, and recommended 25mg DHEA along with a Super Adrenal formula supplement.

This is so different from everything I've read here, that I'm a little concerned. Does this sound OK, or should I be looking for another Doc? I have noticed an overall feeling of well being which is nice, but not much else different.

Hey, I'm 20 years old and some time ago I found out through a blood test that my total testosterone was at 159ng/dl, and after a long time discussing with my doctor he put me on Nebido. I took my first injection of nebido, 4ml/1000mg I believe, 5 weeks ago, but I'm still not feeling any different at all from when I started. So my question is, might the reason for my not feeling any different be that I've been low on T for a long time? I took some blood tests about a year before the one I mentioned earlier, where my total T came out at around 300ng/dl. I'm scared that the TRT won't help me get rid of my anxiety and depression.

Dan,
I know you posted this a little over a month ago, I'm curious to know how you've handled your situation since then. I see you have taken Nebido, I am not too familiar with that brand of testosterone. Make sure you ask your doctor if it's a generic brand or high quality. Another reason you may have not felt any different is you may not be receiving the other medications in order to receive optimal results. I understand you were concerned that it wasn't working because you've have low t for quite some time, however that has no effect on the results of a program, it may take longer that is all. I am currently on a testosterone therapy program, and it took me thee trial clinics before landing on the perfect one. The doctor informed me of EVERYTHING I was taking and why I needed to take it. If your doctor is not prescribing you something to block estrogen production, then that could be your reason. When you intake testosterone, it increases your estrogen causing your testosterone injections to be ineffective. Let me know if you need any help or recommendations. The medical center I am with specializes for Men only and is nationwide. I would be more than happy to refer you, but it really did change my life and im thrilled to help because ive been there! It really takes a toll on you. Good luck!

Hi twilliams, thanks for responding. It's now been 9 weeks since I started my treatment and I still don't feel any different compared to before I started treatment. I checked my TT 6 weeks after my first injection, it had gone from 5,5nmol/L to 6.9 nmol/L, which was lower than I expected, but it's still an increase. In the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing an increase in breast tissue on my right pec (I had some left after surgeically removing quite a bit half a year ago) and I've noticed fat accumulating on my chest. Now I don't know about the fat accumulation, but the breast tissue got me worried, so I went to my GP to have my estradiol checked. I haven't gotten the results back yet, but I expect to retrieve them in a day or two.

Now for the Nebido (testosterone undecanoate), Nebido is the most commonly used injection for treating hypogonadism in Europe. Nebido is slow releasing with a half life at 90+-50 days (I think). As it is very slow releasing it is not known to cause particularly high estrogen levels, though this may differ from person to person.

In your opinion what shot of the two would you say aromatizes more:

500 iu. HCG

or

60 mg T Enanthate shot ?

Also, how many hours from shot of either of these would Estradiol peak at ?

(TRT protocol: 500 iu. HCG E3D and 60 mg T shot E3D)

Thats a hard one to answer. HCG acts a lot different from person to person.

I would say HCG though, because it can directly covert and stimulate aroma.
