Cardio without using legs?

Anyone have some good ideas of cardio that can be done without moving the legs? As I posted in my 3J thread, I suddenly sneezed while injecting into my thigh. I bent the 1/2" 29g needle roughly 90 degrees and caused a bit of damage to my thigh. It is now very sore and quite inflamed. I am icing it on and off and taking ibuprofen, but I cannot do cardio until it no longer hurts like a mother...

So, any ideas on how to do cardio without using my legs?

I don't have a pool. :( That would be a great idea if I did, though.

I was thinking about rowing, but low weight so I do not need to brace with my legs.

boxing or an arm cycle machine.
Might be just my gym, but we have a machine that you cycle with your arms rather than your legs. Older people with bad knees and ankles love it as they can just turn their arms over which they're generally more able to use.

You can always try the elliptical, it's less intense for the quads and you can use your arms to assist. Been there, done that with a pin - scary stuff when it bends and is in your body. I dread the day that I break one and have to get out the needle nose pliers...

Run a boxing circuit. Start with 3 mins on speed bag then do 3 mins on the heavy bag then do 3 mins punching the dummy. And increase the time each time you do this. Of course you need the equipment to be able to do this but if you have access to it, it works.

This is probably going to increase your heart rate past the fat burning zone but I believe something is better than nothing

How long did it take to return to normal? It is Friday and it is still puffy and tender. Not nearly as bad as yesterday, but still quite noticeable. Maybe I am just a wimp wrt pain. :)

Took almost a week, but I just pushed through the pain because I'm dumb like that lol. Keep in mind that I pin with 25g needles, so you might recover faster. Ice on an injection site is bad juju btw.

Ah, then no more ice! I know ice is good for swelling...but did not take into account it was also an injection site.

You can do a high speed crossfit circuit without using legs. Just do lots of reps at low weight. Just stay away from thier crazy injury prone shit. I've always read that cardio has always been tested and shown to be more effective post weight lifting. So you could go heavy then do a light quick circuit for cardio. Just a thought.

Due to the limitations of my gym...and now I see why they do not call themselves a gym (Planet Fitness), I decided to try out the elliptical with arms included (they have some without arm motion as well). I did thirty minutes of 140bpm cardio and my leg did not hurt at all during. I say during, because a half out later (after I was all done at the gym), it hurt quite a bit. It is not hurting that bad now, after eating and showering.

I am going to try out other ideas just to mix it up, within the limitations of my "gym".

Just like you said, it took about a week. A little less and I was feeling pretty good, but now I have no problems at all.
