i know there are some ox fans on this board so here are his lifts from the wpo semis. he qualified for the arnold and finished 4th at the semis in a strong feild of middle weigfhts. if you notice on his last pull the guy in the white tee behind him pulled 755 on his last pull to finish second in front of chris and toni. chris and toni train at ecbb for those that dont know. the nc lifters went 1, 3,4 in the middle wreight class. if matt missed his last pull he would have been tied for second with toni.

anyway all these 220ers will be at the arnold plus travis mash. thatll be 4 220ers from nc. and 3 from ecbb.

matt kroczaleski, who finished second, is a true inspration as well. he recovered from 2 torn biceps that required surgery and beat cancer. what a stud.

know you a fan of ox so thats the main reason i posted it.

in his 1st pull the guy in the whoite tee and deadlift suit standing off to his right is matt, the guy i spoke of who beat three debilhitating injury/disease.

its a hook grip not dbl overhand, big difference. =0l

travis, toni and ox are all out of ecbb and all three use the hook grip.

I think i am going to be going to it when i start training again next week. Rontonio looked like he liked it. I think i have the hands for it.

if youy can get past the pain it is very effective. some guys do better with it than others. it absolutely kills me. i have tried several times and once i get up in the high 5s it just feels like its going to tear my thumb nails off.

at the wpo semis chuck used it for his first pull. he damged his thumbs pretty badly so he switched back to over/under.

doesnt seem to be a particular hand type that use it. ox has short fat fingers and does well with it. goggins uses it and has long fingers. i guess some guys just have more nerve endings in their thumbs or sumpin. =0l

damn if i know. kyle tried it again the other day. :D that lasted about 1 second.

toni atkins used it like rontonio did and it didnt really bother him much the first time. go figure.

i always pull dbl overhand.what is this hook grip.my grip sucks period and anything to help would be a step forward.as for being harder dbl overhand it's not for me i just cant do the over/under thing.

Did an old version of this post have a link to an article about a guy in Alabama that had a rally bad injury of torn quads or something but came back. He works out my himself at home so that nobody can tell him that he is doing it wrong, etc. Who was that? Where did that article go?

nope diferent post. thats jim hoskinson. he lives in fla now. blackbeard started the original thread.
