do u guys slam or throw weights at ur gym?

If you or anyone has suggestions for a god gym in the Chicagoland area (think NW side), I am all ears. Chicago in general is a shitty place for hardcore gyms given its size.

If your strong enough to pick it up, then be strong enough to put it down. I hate when I see people throwing weights because it just tears up the equipment and my gym prob wouldn't replace it if someone was throwing it. If I owned it you wouldn't be throwing it. I would be throwing you out. Some things are understandable. But just being a freaking animal in the gym is a little dumb. Your not the only one there.

Could not find my ipod so I had to go finish my workout at the gym rocking my Gf's hot pink ipod nano.

AT THE END OF EVERY SET I GRUNTED RAAAAAA!!! AND INSISTED ON SLAM MY WEIGHTS DOWN TO RECLAIM MY MASCULINITY!!

but i realized at the end that just drew more attention to myself!
....fuck you if u were one of those who was staring at me strange!!

the guys that drive me fucking crazy are the skinny fucks dropping the weights and you look and they're the 30 pounders, fuck I hate that.

I remember I just bought the newest ipod nano touch and I was enjoying it when after a few sets I let the 150's down and wondered why the tunes cut out. Fucking smashed, didn't notice that it fell out of my pocket.

But I love the sound of heavy deallift thunder resonating throughout the gym.

Jakked hardcore is in montgomery near aurora. its got free weights and also a strongman and powerlifting team. $50 gets you access to everything and i believe dumbbells go up to 200

I scream Yup, Yeah buddyyy Yup. Light weight babyyyyy. In all seriousness though I don't ever drop weights or throw them around. People go to the gym and want to feel sumwhat safe. I also don't grunt or yell and I expect the same from everyone else.

If your dropping or throwing the weights around, You are not in control and i bet the form is terrible.

Its not how much weight you can push, Its more about how much weight you look like you can push.

can't help but disagree with this one dude. i'm lucky enough to lift at a private powerlifting gym where guys are slapping the shit out of each other before sets, dropping heavy dumbells on the floor and screaming at each other calling each other pussies lol. its the greatest atmosphere ever.

i may at times drop the weights after rep'n out, but i try not to grunt as that fuckin bugs the fuck outta me, got a fuck that does that all the time, meanwhile one of those clowns that works on there arms 7 days a week and nothing else, taking up space and fuckin hate it!
i can understand doing shoulder shrugs ( heavy) and such but come on, doing bicep curls and grunting lmao

I throw shit or did when I lifted heavy ass weights, but mainly it was cause I worked too far into failure.. Was chasing the gains, now I stop shy of being tempted to throw weights, brings too much attention.

I used to drop the weights to avoid injury when I repped out on heavy dumbell press's until one day it bounced and broke a huge mirror on the wall. Made me feel like a jackass. Now I always control it, sit up with it and rack em at the end of each set. I will drop the weight on the last rep of heavy deads or DB rows though.

The heavy ones get crazy height!! The owner of my gym would kick my ass if i bounced one of his heavy dumbells.

Thanks for posting this UP!

I get self conscious about that too, but this is the conclusion I came too. If you're in the ZONE... who gives a F**K what ANYONE thinks. If they're hating because you're having an intense work out, they're just jealous. If you're lifting anything over 75lb dumbells you have the right to drop them. Trying to put them down safely can cause more harm, especially if you don't have a spotter.

just don't wear sunglasses in the gym, that's a douchebag move lol
