do u guys slam or throw weights at ur gym?

there's also a difference between dropping weights and throwing them. If I go heavy ~100lbs dumbells I softly drop them. Anything less than 90lbs and I use gravity to land them on my legs on the way up from the bench.
 
Damn straight I drop the 120's, WTF is a guy going to do when he's done, he's done, drop that shit and pull yourself back together for the next set.

Now yelling on every rep? That is a different subject :-(

Okay I am full of shit...it was the pink dumbbells.

Depends how they drop the weights, if they lower them to their sides them gently drop them I don't mind, but when are reaching fully up then drop them or throw them that annoys me, be considerate for others I'm trying to do curls in the squat rack here. :rolleyes2
 
the guys that drive me fucking crazy are the skinny fucks dropping the weights and you look and they're the 30 pounders, fuck I hate that.

people who grunt from 120's probably grunted at 30's when they were younger n weaker

I do it on chest day when working with DBs. Other that that never find the need to. I workout at 2 am though so it wouldnt really matter.
 
Jakked hardcore is in montgomery near aurora. its got free weights and also a strongman and powerlifting team. $50 gets you access to everything and i believe dumbbells go up to 200

Thanks, I am well aware of Jakked since it is my dream gym. However, I can't make it work given that it is 40 miles away (one way). There is one in the city as well (famous - owned by a former pro powerlifter?) and the one in Alsip. All too far. Guess I live in an area with pussies. Dammit!!
 
If your strong enough to pick it up, then be strong enough to put it down. I hate when I see people throwing weights because it just tears up the equipment and my gym prob wouldn't replace it if someone was throwing it. If I owned it you wouldn't be throwing it. I would be throwing you out. Some things are understandable. But just being a freaking animal in the gym is a little dumb. Your not the only one there.

I use amounts that i can handle so that i don't injure myself or others. I can understand pushing yourself but i don't see the need to throw them personally unless you're an attention whore..
 
Guys I subscribe to Dorian Yates Blood n Guts series and the whole point is to go to FAILURE!! Failure is when you cannot lift the damn thing again or finish so yeah sometimes a drop it. Im sorry but mostly I am careful to NOT cause panic to the Nerds in the gym that will only be there for a week and then done!! :)
 
I don't grunt like I just blew a load but you better believe, there was a few times when I gotta fuck with a fair weather weekend warrior! There's always that group of 3 or 4 guys that work out together that go for a month out of a year that will grab them 45lb dumbells and go to benching them like a monster grunting like a pornstar! I can't help myself but to ask them if I can work in with them and tell em I need a good spot when I grab the 30's! I'll grunt so fucking loud the whole gym will hear me lol! "true story"
 
oh yea heavy dumbbells are not the easiest thing to set down gently after a set and yea i yell psych myself up get in the zone and i wouldnt want it any other way
 
One of our biggest gyms in town DB's only to 115's... Gotta go find all the Old School dusty gyms with the OG's to find heavy DB's...
 
Keep at this long enough and you'll be throwing your hearing aids and dentures around, I can hit a moving target with BP meds or viaga......I carry both.

My next trick is losing an eye and getting fake one. Throwing my glass eye at some hottie to attract her (you know that shit is solid game).

I'm cool with a controlled drop/let-go with heavier DB's, provided there's space. The db's can take more of licking than our shoulders. What does send me into a rage (which can be very productive...in the gym) are the guys that leave like 6 sets pairs of dumbells, no excuse for one pair but 6!!! If you guys saw the freeweight area in my gym tonight, f'ng savages.
