I do forearms a lot. Mostly wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. Hammer curls work pretty good for me and so do reverse curls. It gets them real vascular.
I do forearms maybe 2 times out of the week when i remember too i usually do reverse curl and reverse curl with the rope and then i use my iron gripper by ivanko and thats about it.
You don't need to do forearm excersizes. Anything you do that involves your arms(biceps and/or triceps) involves your forearms. I feel em burn when doing anything from preachers to tri-pull downs. They BURN like a mother f'r doing seated rows too.
I work out my forearms by using this little thing i made - i attached a string to a 15lb weight, and attached the other end to part of an old broom stick. Pull it like your reeling in a fish, and reel it back down, its amazing.
Now I do my forearms on my back/bi day. After back, before bi's. Wow.
When I blast my forearms after working out my back they get so pumped that I can't close my hands. After that I do about 6 sets of knee raises/crunches let them rest a bit and dive right into my bi workout. Sweet results!
heavy deadlifts, shrugs, n hammer curls.......and everything else i do in the gym that invvolves grabbing something (plates or whatever), so no need for me to train them, especially considering that proportionately i have huge forearms.......not sporting 16.5's like crazy mike here, but my forearms are only about 2 inches smaller then upper arms.....they actually look as thick as my upper arms.
i love forearm excersises... some of my buddies laugh @ me BUT these exercises help with grip strenghth on other exersises>>> real men DONT use wrist wraps !
After reading this post I started my first sets of forearm exercises in conjunction with th ebicpe workout and I have to say that the burn was EXCELLENT.
I'll definetly make sure to do these in the future. Great thread
