electric pump machine

hey guys ,some one told me about an electric machine where u sit and then u put a gel like material on your body and terminals are attached to u sending impulses and creating exciting potentials in the muscle tissue cause insane pumps and muscular growth, anyone know what is that

Your muscles react to an electrical pulse, so it tenses the muscles just as you say. You can use gel or water, anything conductive. You can pick one up for probably $150+.

Rather uncomfortable and offering little to no benefit at all. The stronger the contraction, the more uncomfortable it is.

Just go to the gym.

They're called TENS machines and you can get a decent personal version for like $30-40 off ebay or anywhere else usually, sometimes even as low as liek 15 bucks for the cheap ass ones. I have one myself. Works awesome for rehab but I believe in order to build muscle you'd have to turn it up to such a high contraction that painwise it'd be intolerable.
I'm not sure how that holds true as people who have major lower back surgeries where them 24/7 to help strengthen the injury. But then again they have them on day in day out and not just for an hour or two.

TENS is different than a muscle stimulator. I have both and I use them for different purposes.
My TENS unit has various electrical stimulation patterns that feel similar to a good massage. It came in very handy for me one day, when I had a back spasm that was so intense that I could not even move out of bed. The stimulation (and a very good muscle relaxer) had me mobile again in less than an an hour.
My muscle stimulator works very differently. I can vary the contraction and relaxation time as well as the intensity. Where I do not think that it can build muscle on its own, I do sometimes use it to take a muscle to the very edge after a hardcore gym workout. By itself, I'd say it was useless. But with everything I am doing, it could be adding to the serious growth I have been having.

the unit i am talking about is a large expensive unit where there is a place that u sit in and terminals from the machine are attached to you ,its not cheap like those ones costing 15dollars or so and i guess its different from them..

We have those in the PT rooms here that we use sometimes. Its the same thing as the TENS I have in my eyes, just enables intervals of stimulation like a program as well as varied muscle contraction time.

thats the last thing you should buy it for, building muscle. when i tore my mcl they strapped some on my knee and around the area and it made the muscles around safely contract without putting un-necessary pressure on the knee for rehab.
