If you were using a typical insulin syringe, each tick mark is TEN IU's, not ONE. It's pretty rare to find a 1ml(100 units) syringe that goes up by 1IU per tick from what I've seen. Insulin is no joke, and before you continue with this insanity, please do yourself a favor and do some real research and spend the money on the necessary testing equipment (a glucose meter for starters) before you do some real damage to your body.
I have just started insulin after being a diabetic for nearly 20 years as the pancreas definitely has an expiration date on it once you start heading into insulin resistance territory. I take 25 units of long acting insulin right now and 10 fast acting WITH diabetes. I cannot stress enough how much this stuff can wreck you if you don't know what you're doing. I get nervous and I know what I'm doing.
