How do you cure sore muscles?

I've been out of the gym for almost a year but want to get back into it. I am suffering from sore muscles where they lock my arms in polace to the point where I cant move them. My girlfriend massages them but its no help, what other remedies can I try?
 
rest... rest is the best remedy for sore muscles.. you just have to get through the first week..

you also have to take it easy the first week.. since you havn't trained in a while
 
Are you talking about some form of muscle cramp? If so you may have some form of electrolyte imbalance or dehydration. Any chance you could better explain this 'soreness'?

Lactic acid has locked ur shit up my man. Stretch slowly..in the hot shower. Go train with set s of 20 for 2 weeks so this don t happen again...but hey

Try supplementing with Greens in your post workout shake, they help balance alkalinity in your body. You build up lactic acid in your muscles when you workout, but in order to recover quickly you must balance Ph and get rid of that acid in the mucles. A greens supplement is an easy way to do this. Also, dont train to hard as your just getting back into it, you dont want to completely destroy you muscles, you only want to stimulate them. And eat protein, take BCAAs, lots of H2O, and get pleanty of rest. If your working out to the point of your muscles cramping your doing far too much..

I know the feeling too well.

Last summer I ran a my first ever cycle(12 weeks Test-E and 6 weeks var).

Week 2 of PCT came and I was border line shut down. Low energy, very minimal libido action..etc. So one morning my friend and I worked out and I drank a big redbull. I felt GREAT. We were doing biceps and killed it. Towards the end my friend encouraged me to curl the EZ bar with the 45s(the most I have ever done, never attempted this much ever not even on my cycle). I did 3x6 of forced reps. Next day I wake up at 6am with my biceps SORE AS A MOTHERFUCKER!!!! I NEVER felt soreness like this in my life!!!! It hurt like hell to even move my biceps a few centimeters. That whole day my arms were locked because it hurt way too much to move them. I truly never felt pain like this. I had my arms massaged, soaked in hot water, and even put bengay cream all over them(by someone else). Also I drank my protein, BCAAs, glutamine, and gatorade. Nothing really helped. I ended up taking some xanax early in the evening which knocked my ass out till the next morning. The next day I felt better. Still sore but at least I could move my arms.

Like 3J said, rest is the #1 remmedy. Gatorade, BCAAs and glutamine help very minor. Sleep puts in all the work
 
If it's DOM's, soak in a bathtub filled with epsom salts. When I started doing cardio twice a day, my legs and feet would hurt something fierce; the soak helps quite a bit and helps you to fall asleep - which as 3J mentioned, is paramount to recovery.

Glutamine and Taurine greatly helped me ,I tried mega doses of glutamine 50gms per day divided along with 20gms of Taurine..

rest, protein, hot tub, and very. light weights high rep to get the blood in the sore areas. that works best for me.
