How often do you change your pin???

Ok, I use a 23g to draw..and a 23g to shot. But they are different. I re-use the one to draw with, but never reuse the same one to shot with.

Is drawing with the same one a bad idea?

I did for my first cycle and never had a problem, but it is better go to in with a clean fresh pin that slides in easily (less scar tissue, lower chance of infection due to decreased air exposure time).

But as far as drawing, is this a main concern? I know that shotting I will always use a new needle and syringe, but drawing how many times am I able to re-use that one?

25 have given me a scare because they bend. i'm afraid of breaking one off, how would i explain that to the doctor. 22 or 23 for me. another thing that helps if you have a dull needle is to stretch the skin with you finger and thumb. thats what my wife does, she takes care of daddy

I'll tell you a little something, take that 25g that bends, and bend it back and forth until it breaks off......it will take alot of effort to break it off. You will NEVER do it when you're injecting, never, it just won't happen, so stop worrying.

I use a 22/1.5 to draw and then swap the tip for the fresh jab. I did however (when I was drawing and shooting with the same needle) hit the bottom of the vial one time and I tell you I got maybe 1/8 inch in and it hurt like a muthuh! It felt like a giant rusty nail going into my glut.

I since have been drawing with a 22 and swapping the tip for a fresh one for the poke. Reading these posts I may have to switch to poking with a 25ga cause my pin cusion is begining to hurt.

i have one pin set aside to draw, that i clean w/ alcohol and change every so often, and use a fresh pin to inject. 22g for me. you can use the same needle to draw/inject. i just like mine as sharp as can be.

Thats a sure fire way to getting an infection bro. If your going to use a separate pin to draw with, why not use a new one each time?

I'm at a total loss here! Reusing a $0.10 pin and "sterilizing" with alcohol. Methanol is about the only thing that you could truly sterilize with. WAY TOO RISKY!!! To any newbies reading this, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME FOLKS! ;)

For me if I even bump the pin with my finger it gets changed. You are putting that deep into muscle tissue. A single stray particle can cause a sterile or worse yet infected abscess.

I draw with a 22g and shoot with a different 22g,,, I have to agress the 22 takes forever to withdraw but I tried an 18 and it made a big hole in the rubber so I would prefer wasting some more time drawing outta a smaller gauge then making a big hole and giving the vial a chance of not being so sterile.
