Is this bottle safe to use?

I've used at least 10 bottles of test from same vendor, same brand; I've always felt like I can trust them. I just opened a new bottle and to my surprise, the rubber seal looks like as seen in the photo attached. Since it looks melted I'm assuming it may just be a factory defect but not sure if I want to take that chance, all my other bottles were perfect. What do you guys think? Would you use it?

Thats what it looks like to me also the picture is not very clear! Did it have the plasctic protective cap on it or is that how it arived?

Yes, cap was on and sealed. It doesn't look like a needle puncture as much as a failed attempt of sealing the bottle or something.. I did send an email to vendor asking for replacement; I'm still waiting to hear the results.

Somewhat consistent with a vial capped while hot and cooled drawing the stopper inward due to contraction. Some guys still bake their gear and or vials(thus causing this to occur).

I recommend playing it safe and having the vial replaced. This is something the cooker needs to made aware of for everyone's gain :-)

Appears to be a defect to me. If everything on the inside looks kosher I would use it, assuming it came from a source that I trust to a certain degree.

I'd use it too, then again I pinned Wesson Oil once for kicks.

Wesson is no fun without at least some BA & BB in it (just so you know).

Like I said the picture is a little unclear for me. But it looked to me as particulate built up in the top as if it had been used.

they will replace it, at least any decent source will. it would prolly be fine to use, but why not get a new one, then you can use both :)

well that is not a needle hole in the rubber , because the rubber will seal after a needle has been used,
and if you get it sealed from the same source etc i would use it it looks to me only as a factory defect
