jogging/knee pain/wraps

ok. for some, jogging is brutal due to their knees/feet hurting afterwards. sure, shoes for jogging, but still in the long run, for people, it is still unavoidable to have knee pain.

so I ask, is it possible to jog with a knee wrap or something something for the knee?? thanks

I use a knee support wrap when I do my cardio.

Although I use the elipitcal (much easier on the knees and joints).

You just have to find the right one for you. You can't get one that's too restricting or one that pinches as you run/ jog.

Go to the store and try on a few different ones and if the one you pick isn't the right one after testing it out, return the fucker and try another.

Better to save your knees now then worry about the shit later when it could be much worse.

There Is Not A Lot You Can Do To Prevent The Shock From Running. I Had To Cut Running From My Routine Due To Knee Pain. I Ride The Bike Or The Eliptical.

so is it true that running isn't for everybody then? i enjoy running and would run 24/7 i given the chance, but the last time I stopped due to knee pains and toe injury, i felt better without the knee/hip pains. so I guess it is back to gpp and walking/brisk walking

I could run on a treadmil with no pain, but 10 years ago when I was in basic training (boot camp) we ran everyday...I would go back to my room and drop in pain, but never let anyone see....My knees would hurt soo bad, sometimes I dont know how I did it...

Ill use the treadmill, but thats it...

Shin pain and shin splints are usually caused by the shoes you wear.

I get them too when I wear my Nike Shox.
I have never ever had shin splints until about a week ago playing basketball in Shox. Its only happened once out of 20+ uses though.

I don't run on concrete, i run on dirt or a good track.

I run up hills, but i don't run down hills. I make sure i warm up proper.

I don't do high impact stuff a lot. If it hurts the joint the next day, i lay off of that activity untill i feel better.

There's 3 things in this world that are worth paying the high price tag for:

1. A nice, comfy bed.

2. Good shoes for your feet.

3. Good gear.

Angry, do you use knee sleeves to squat? I'm going to start, as soon as I can find some rehband knee sleeves, as was recommended to me by a power lifter in my gym. I ask this only because your knee pain may be lingering from heavy squat days. Google rehband--expensive stuff, but I haven't read one complaint.

I used to run 10miles a day on concrete and knee probs were definately a problem, concrete is a bad idea as shock impact is much worse...grass is the best or a tread mill since it has suspension.

I now do 15mins cross-trainer and then 15mins treadmill...makes it more interesting and the best thing is my knees don't ache at all :)

I have the same problem when i jog which i use to love to do,but when and if i do cardiolol iget on an eliptical ,stair climber, or hit the bike hard. you will get similar results without the knee pain.Your prob like me your getting a little older and all those years of abuse are catching up. You can try wraps ,but i just quit and went to other less demanding on the knees cardio
