Got tired of using 25 gauge to draw, which takes like 3 min, so just got some 18 gauge needles. However, they call em cannons for a reason, never thought about this, but will those needles leave a whole in my vial big enough for gear to leak through?

No. I draw my test with an 18g and then switch to 23 for injection. If worried, you could use an 18 and prefill your syringes.

lol @ using 25g, surprised it worked. did u then inject w the same needle? it must have hurt. i hope u swap for a 25g

i use 21g the 18g is fine but huge.

beware of the 18ga! Since its so big it has been known to damage the rubber vial top to the point that small chunks of rubber drop into the juice. I had this happen to me first hand as well as hearing about others on this board have the same problem.

you dont want to be injecting chunks of rubber into your body.

I stick with 20/21ga to withdrawl.

kind of what i was afraid of. If this really does happen though i wonder why they sell them as it seems to be a definite health concern.

Because over time with multiple punchures the rubber stopper starts getting beat up. 18g are used in the medical field often.

glad i read this thread lol when i saw the title i was like nawwww it ain't gonna fuck with the stopper, i've never had that problem lol wow.

Screw those 18s. No reson to take a chance chewin up the rubber. 20g or 21g works fine to draw. If you're usin prop or somethin that you draw out of EOD those 18s WILL eventually damage the rubber and may be too small for you to even notice. I wouldnt take the chance and toss em out. Pins are cheap bro just order up a new box of needs in a 20 or 21g.

I use 18 gauge and limit the amount of punctures in the rubber by drawing 3ml per draw. I then prefill my 23gauge pins for a two week supply. Like a couple guys said above, the 18 gauge will f' up the rubber. I have seen small rubber core samples in my vials in the past which is why I stopped drawing more than 4-5 times out of a vial.

I should have mentioned this above; the small rubber chunks happen when you draw too close the the same spot in the rubber. The pin makes a half cirlce shaped hole every time you draw. If two of these half circle holes touch each other, then you increase the possibility of a piece breaking off. This could also create a leak. DRaw out of different locations to decrease the chance of this happenning. I know it's comon sense, but just thought I would throw it out there.
