Grass always seems greener on the otherside my friend. Not running down Roush's lifestyle or anything but it takes a very special woman or man for that matter to last in the swing scene. Been there done that. Honestly I can say I don't miss the drama one bit. But enjoy the ride while you can buddy:)

Right. With my luck the two girls would run off together, and I'd be left holding my dick trying to find another chick to train .... no thanks
 
I echoe all that..running game was so so fun but now....Mrs. T and I are like lock and key and it get s turned a lot. 49 yr old fit women are so fulfilling and willing to to be filled..lol add trt and it s 1983..except I m in better shape...sad but true..

I have neither the interest or energy , mental to play anymore...even through my burner phone away..and if that lil fucker could "talk".......
 
Bump. Rather then starting a new thread on traps training,, I figured I'd just bump,this one.

What all are you guys doing for traps training ? And do they respond well for you as one of the muscle groups on cycle ?

I'm 5-6 weeks into my cycle and my shoulders are on edge,, so want to give them a bit of a rest and concentrate on more traps work on shoulder day.. So Any other exercises besides heavy shrugs, slow squeezing shrugs and reverse shrugs

Yeah, shoulders and trap are always the first to pop out for me on cycle. I rarely train traps though - and when I do it's just barbell shrugs. To be honest I'm not really aware of that many excercises for them.

What do you do?

Yeah I'm not aware of many either.. Need to add a few more movements,, i still want shoulder day to be a full workout but posterior delts are giving me fits,, so figured just add trap work and give the rear delts some rest.

I'm like you,, just barbell shrugs. Usually 250 lbs x 20 reps with a good squeeze and contraction at the top,, then I do the same with the barbell behind me.. Then I'll do seated, slightly bent over dumbell lateral raises,, with my arms at such an angle it really squeezes the traps..

I need to add more to my arsenal then that though.. Figured this cycle go around try to get them massive and easily popping out of a t shirt.
 
Hise shrugs (barbell in squat position)
Prone shrugs (chest supported on inclince bench with dumbbells)
Barbell overhead shrugs

Clean & snatch pulls (both advanced moves that take a while to learn)

Just some alternatives to consider :)

Lol.. Im really hoping to get them thicker with some striations and Vascularity by the end of this cycle ,, not just raising up,, but some thick defined striated fullness. .

But hey I think I'm gonna take your advice brother.. Next time the wife wants to go for a walk I'm gonna have her duct tape a 45 pound plate to each wrist, Then "farmer" walk with her.. Walks won't be boring anymore ! And she'll have to hold the damn dog leash not me lol

hahahaha! just get some five gallon buckets from a hardware store and fill them with sand hahaha!!!

i noticed , it was always letting the weight of those damned buckets hang off my shoulders, i wasn't contracting or squeezing at all.. my shoulders/ traps stretched and relaxed as far as they could go - just hung the weight off my shoulders like my arms were ropes without any contraction

walking back and across 18 acres with 45 to 70 lbs swinging off the end of each arm for a couple hours each day - was just hanging onto the weight ( like now ) which was more work than anything. i wasn't but hell , maybe 15 16 years old, big old farm boy traps.. the one muscle i never really hads to train - more like try to catch up to
 
Haha!! Bingo you got me. cause I know all about that shit. Which is why I married a petite woman who was barely 90 pounds when I met her. I got not problems filling that shit up even with my schlort:)

On top of that, all things are relative. So, I implore you, marry a girl with small hands."

It took them a moment, then we had a good laugh. Probably the best advice I gave them.

What do you do?

I used to to DB shrugs and then use the hammerstrength shrug machine.

I used to use as much weight as possible. and do about 4x 8-12
(150lbs DB's, ect)





Now i just do barbell shrugs. Keep it at 135lbs. and do 4-5 sets of 25-30reps with my final set going to failure.
My traps have grown more doing this the last 4 months, than they did the previous two years of lifting.

Goddamn. My girlfriend has the same size hands as me (shes pretty tall).

Thats the truth if they have small hands it tricks there brains makes them tgink your dick is big. First thing i check is hands now im happily engaged lol
 
Shoulder day was today -

Zilla recommended doing clean and snatch pulls for traps training ,, which I cannot do due to having had a couple of lower back surgeries ,, but being that is an explosive movement , I decided to train doing barbell shrugs and Haney shrugs explosively today,, Instead of my normal slow controlled time under tension method..

Instead of slow and controlled on the way up, I exploded up, held, contracted, and slow and steady on the way down.. Put on four 45 plates and two 25s,, did not go to failure, just went to 20 reps for 6 sets..

Point here, if any -- Is that there is not a whole lot of different exercises for traps,, so I just decided today to change up the way I lift on a certain exercise rather then doing a whole new exercise



On a side note -- This thread is equally as much about guys dicks as it is their traps -- There must be some sort of connection between the two
