MS...Is it possible AAS help to slow progression

Hey bros,

I have MS (Multiple Sclerosis-diagnosed July '05) and have found out that when I'm on cycle I don't have nearly as many relapses as I had before I went back on them. I started juicing in 2001 and stopped in 2004. I then restarted again in Jan 2009 and see much less relapses than I did before. I know when I get a flare-up, the doctor prescribes me steroids (corticosteroids) it suppresses the immune system to help with the inflammation of the myelin. Does anyone here think that AAS are doing the same for me as the corticosteroids?

I'd be interested to hear what anyone knows/thinks!

Thanks!

Nick

I never told my doctor and I did some research on it. Some links I searched for on google said that there's some people who report benefits from it, but I find that it definitely does. I suppose if I'm my own guinea pig that's probably enough for me to prove it, lol.

Thanks for the wishes. So far, this is what I found...

If anyone finds anything, please let me know!

Thanks again!

As a Registered Nurse I would go with caution on this one. As MS is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system is attacking some part of the body (in this case the nervous system), one could be empowering the immune system to fight harder against what it considers to be a threat. This could speed the progression of the MS. This is theory of course. I have also considered that some ASS do assist in protecting nerve tissues while also enhancing the immune system. This is a tough one. Keep us posted. I am also interested as I have family with MS.

I couldn't comment myself as i really don't know.

Best take 6 month off cycle see what happens.
Then cycle see if the results differ.

All the best to you.
