My Contibution To The Board...

Being fairly new to all this, I am quickly learning that everything I introduce to my body creates other issues.

Since starting testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) several months ago, my very normal blood pressure, started creeping up and finally went to a crazy (for me anyways) 180/103. Needless to say I went into panic mode and seriously considered cutting my dose way back.

After some research I tried out an herbal product, available at many health food stores called Forskolin.

Let me tell you what... this product is THE SHIT!!! In less than 2 weeks, without cutting anything back, my BP is now back to my normal range of 117/74.

Trust me... If you have normal BP to begin with, Forskolin works like a champ! Just make sure you don't get the 1-2 mg type unless you don't mind eating 20 of them per day.

So what doses should be run, for how long, and does it have any sides?

i have researched a little on forskolin and not many human researches done but it is being said that forskolin has alot of other benefits also. it has weight loss properties, antihistamine properties, helps raise natural test levels, helps fight types of cancer (in mice atleast) and helps with asthma issues along with the blood pressure benefits. there were many other benefits but can't remember all of them and couldn't find much on doseage amounts.

No sides that I know of, or that I have experienced. Unless you consider an excellant vasodilator a side.

The recommended dosage for treating high blood pressure in an average size male is 50 - 75mg spread throughout the day in 3 doses. After your BP drops to a normal range in 1-3 weeks, you can reduce to a dosage that maintains normal BP.

In my case, I am now only taking 18mg first thing in the morning. This has kept me consistantly between 115/75 to 120/80, while pinning 400mg test e per week.

The important part is not to confuse the Forskolin with Forskohlii. The product is usually called Coleus Forskohlii and then the Forskolin is a standardized extract contained within the product.

I use the Coleus Forskohlii by Enzymatic Therapy because it has the highest extract percentage I could find. It is 50mg Coleus Forskohlii, but has a minimum of 18% or 9mg Forskolin, which is the number you use to calculate your daily dosage

You do not want the other brands containing a low standardized percentage, unless you don't mind taking 50 pills per day.

BP is a funny thing... I'm on meds for my BP (Genetics) and told my Doc I wanted it lower like what's now recommended by the AMA.

He said no problem if I didn't mind passing out every time I stood up too quick...

My average is 130/85 or so...
