My S4/GW Cycle Log (Sponsored by Sarms Search)

Ok, so check this out. I couldn't make this shit up. Yesterday I drop my kids off at MMA and head to the gym. I do a session of back and Bi's and head back to pick up the kids. Keep in mind I also trained at the MMA gym with the kids. Well I walk into the MMA gym and the instructor sees me and stops in his tracks while he's teaching and says JEEEZ "my name" your huge! He announces to everyone look at this guy. He literally stopped the class and walked over to me and shook my hand and then grabbed my delt and was in awe. I was super embarrassed by the whole thing and I imagine there are some thoughts going through the parents minds of how I'm getting so big. Some of the Dads were hating I could tell, but it was mostly the fat out of shape ones. A few of my old training partners were laughing and one of them called me the HULK lol

I'm starting to notice the ladies are looking in my direction a lot, which was pretty non existent for a long time.

I went to the gym this morning and thrashed Chest and Tris. I stayed in the gym just doing all kinds of things because I didn't want to leave. When I was done with chest and tris I did some shrugs, calves then went back for more tris and a few more pec decs. It was crazy, but I'm paying for it now. My confidence is through the roof right now and I feel vibrant and happy!

The hardest part of all of this is taking a day off! I want to be in the gym!

So I just got back from the gym after doing legs. I'm finding that I'm not paying as much attention to weight these days as I am to working the muscle. I'm going more by feel than trying to increase weight all the time. I started with Squats as usual.

135x20 warm up
225x12
275x8
275x8
225x10

Leg Press
360lbsx15 (4sets went to failure on the last one and got 19reps)

Did some machines after that. I was just throwing the pin in where I thought I should and just felt the contractions for 10-15 reps. Dont even know what weight I was doing.
5 sets of calf raises
4 sets of leg curls
3 sets of leg ext

25 min of cardio, walking on the treadmill.

This morning when I woke up I felt like my stomach was flatter and leaner than it has been in years. Ive been eating pretty crappy for the last couple weeks too. Getting back on track today. Tomorrow will be shoulders and arms.

Well, I guess it was too good to be true. My surgically repaired shoulder where it ties into my pec and bicep has reared it's ugly head again. I was doing DB shoulder presses with 75's and as I popped it up off of my knee to get it into pressing position I felt something tug and it immediately felt like something tore.

Not like a full tear, but like a really bad day of DOMS. I tried to continue my workout doing lateal raises, front raises, upright rows etc, but I was still feeling discomfort, so I decided to cut it short to live to fight another day.

I will likely rest my chest and shoulders until next week. I'll concentrate on back, legs and arms for now until this pain subsides.

I'm bummed out about it, but it's not surprising to me. I have to look at it like it's just a bump in the road. I'll bounce back. I think I still hadn't recovered from the last chest workout and that's the issue. Just need more rest to let the muscles repair themselves.

your judgement to rest shows maturity. rest rest rest ........excelent choice bro

Well I woke up this morning in a good deal of pain. It may be worse than I thought. I put some Thai boxing ointment on it. Well see how it feels in the coming days.

So I'm sure I have a grade I or II pec strain. This isn't the first time this has happened. I haven't been upping the weight a ton for this exact reason, but I think it was due to the fact that I was not recovered from my previous chest workout and possibly ot warmed up enough.

I'm going to work around it. Taking today off and possibly tomorrow and then I'm going to try to hit back and see how it goes.

ugh thats the worst man. injuries during a cycle blow. Never had a pec strain, how long do they typically take to heal in your experience?

Grade I could be a week. Grade II could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks. This is the kind of thing that normally happens to me just when I start hitting my stride. This is the reason I always have been up and down when it comes to being in shape. I usually stop lifting all together, but this time I'm not stopping. I'll work around it, until it's ready to go again.

Dang. Gotta listen to your body my friend. If you're hurting don't push it.

Nothing was hurting. Nothing gave a sign that this was gonna happen. I popped the dB off my knee and once I got it up I felt something get really tight. I actually did another set after it happened. Once I knew for sure something was wrong I stopped. The reason I say I don't think I was fully recovered from my chest day was because I felt a slight soreness only when I moved a certain way.

Alright, so last night I pulled out my trigger point therapy workbook and looked up my injury. It recommended rolling a tennis ball over the area to break up knots. I rolled the ball across the affected area for about 10min. It was painful, but I could feel the muscles releasing. When I woke up this morning my issue felt a whole lot better than it did yesterday.

I hit the gym this morning and did back and bi's. My workout was not slowed down or hindered by this injury what so ever. I had a huge pump and walked out jacked and was turning heads through the gym. I just mind my business and do my thing.

I did high hammer rows, low hammer rows and close grip cable pulldowns. All 10-12 reps with 1 min rest. Drop set on the last one.

Then did bi's, 70lb straight bar curls 4x12, seated DB curls w/40 lbs 4x15 and then some cable curls 10lbs 4x20.

I wasn't done, so I did some calves and then did an isolation rowing machine for 3 sets of 15. Walked out with veins busting as much as they could through my higher bodyfat lol

Today was a good day considering. I can't be stopped, it's not my fault.:destroy:

2 days with the tennis ball and my chest feels about 70% compared to the day this happened. At this rate I should be able to try to do a light chest day this weekend to gauge how it feels. I did do 10 pushup last night just to get a feel for it and it was very minimal discomfort if any. I'm going to continue massage treatment and working other parts. Taking today off, but will likely do some cardio tonight.

Went to the gym after work today. The chest issue really threw a wrench in my routine, but I figured I would hit triceps, but once I got there I tried some flat bench dumbell presses with just 50 lbs to see how I felt. I ended up doing a set of 30, 25, 25 with no pain. I stopped there because I didn't want to press my luck. I moved to triceps pushdowns and did 5 sets.

From there I started switching off between bicep and triceps exercises. Sorry for the lack of details on what I actually did, but I was all over the place. Just getting blood pumping. Again awesome pump. It is absolutely amazing the way this stuff makes you feel so jacked. I'm gonna try to hit shoulders in the a.m., but I'm not going to do presses.

Even hurt I feel amazing! Sorry for giving pics with a shirt on, but I'll spare you guys from seeing my gut lol

lookin slim! i take it the combo is treating you well

Thanks. I guess I don't notice it as much as other people, but I'very heard this a couple of times now. I was at 26.1% bf on my last dexa scan. Looking forward to my next scan in mid December. Still trying to work around this new injury, but I feel like I can still make progress doing other things.

So back at it today. I did legs, but my routine was a little different today just because there were a few more people than normal in the gym today. I normally start with squats, but there was a line for the squat rack, so today I started with leg ext and pre-exhausted the quads with 4x15 with 125lbs. Then did some calf raises and then made it to the squat rack. From there I hit 3x10 with 225lbs and 1x8 on the last set. After that I hit seated legs curls for 4x12 120lbs. Finally I did 2 more sets of calf raises and cooled down for 10min on the treadmill.

Today I start to see a vein coming out from the front of my shin. Never seen that guy before. Looking forward to back and bit's tomorrow.
