nope, haven't tried low bar....
it's funny because.. i can do front bar squats, perfect, my form couldn't be any better... but once that bar hits my back, i'm all over. straight fucks me up. i think i'm gonna have to spend a lot of time just fixing this, it's nothing that will be fixed over night.

I wouldn't worry about it. Not to be sexist, but I'd say the smith machine should mainly be used by women or people with some sort of injury. If you're a guy doing the smith machine, I'm going to have to say you're a pussy lol. Same goes with machines...

I use hammer strength machines and smith machine every week... nothing wrong with it.

I put my bar right behind my traps. It stays nice and straight and a solod base. I hate puting it on my traps and it tends to woble on me there for some odd fcking reason.
 
Some people's bodies just aren't the right design for a squat with proper technique. You also could have muscular tightness and imbalances in certain areas that makes it more difficult for you, but if you're leaning forward on your way up I think your core muscles are weak and you need to lower the weight to get strong in squatting with proper form. Remember, the squat is a whole body exercise, not just legs, everything is used to push that bar up and lower it down. Good luck!

Man.. All this hate with squatting with the smith! makes me not want to do it ever again... Althought I have to because, it keeps my form.. I have been training with it for a while (2+Years), keeping a bench there for reference... But dropped that and now, it's just moving to the bar...
My main problem is I lean forward, while coming up.
Maybe because I've done squats on the smith for so long, I've become accustomed to the fact that my back is straight, and my hips are aligned and my knees wont pass my toes?
I don't know what to do... After I stack two plates a side, hitting 20 reps, obviouslyI want to add more weight but then, it just crushes my back, HELP! Please for the love of god!

Ppppfffftttt! You're real good at having a go at everyone else, but do you really think that everybody here is wrong and you're the only one that's got it right? Really? I think a smith machine has its place like everything else, but do you really think your video compared to other squat videos is the right way? You think the whole world is mad except you? I'm a lady so the skinny fuck comments won't do me nothing..or any bashing if you try.. My point is we all can't be wrong, when most of us have bodies that look like we know what we're doing, I think you need to accept that now and make changes!

Bet ya hell get personal with you since he cant go at your ego lol. Silly kids will do silly things.
 
It's so painful to read these threads. If you take a step back you will see everyone is trying to help you. I'm surprised nobody in your gym has gave you any pointers. :dunno:
