My TRT success story...finally.

Want2FeelGood

New member
I have been on TRT for around 7 or 8 months. I started out with my Primary Care physician. He prescribed 200mg E2W. I felt ok after about 4 months of being on that. I pinned 50mg E3.5D though. I did not follow his insane protocol. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I found a place that specializes in TRT and TRT only. So far they have been a saving grace.

They do 150mg weekly with 500iu of HCG, and .25mg of Arimidex twice a week (.5mg if needed). Their goal is to have me at a 800 ng/dl trough at the end of the week, and around 1200 ng/dl at peak. I can say im pleased. This is basically a journal from my experience with them (feeling good wise) as opposed to the Primary Care phsycian. I want people to know the difference a proper protocol can make.

My labs from pinning E3.5D with labs taken the day after injection:

Total Testosterone: 1,041 ng/dl (300-1000 ng/dl)
Estradoil: 45 (uh don't know measurements) (20-40 xx)

They said they want my Total T to be around 800 ng/dl on trough day, so they are going to repeat labs in 3 weeks on their protocol.

First week on the switch.

500iu HCG / 150mg Test Cyp

Felt pretty bad that whole week. I don't know what it was, but fatigue and moddiness were defiantly a huge factor. Maybe high estradiol?

Second week on the switch.

500iu HCG / 150mg Test Cyp / .25mg arimidex

Feeling ok today so far. Since my estradiol level was a little high they wanted to start me on the AI right away. I defiantly feel like it will help. Feeling pretty good so far.

Will post results of how I feel the rest of the week (week 2).

great to hear man. It's a shame when you hear about people giving up on trt completely because their doc has them on some bogus program that makes them feel like garbage. The right protocol makes all the difference in the world.

Absolutely. I have read posts on here about people giving up on it because of acne, or high estrogen, or testicular atrophy. All that stuff can be mostly prevented. Then when people say they don't feel the TRT working a lot of it is because the dosage is way to low, or to spread out, etc.

Makes all the difference.

2 Weeks and 4 days into new protocol:

I am utterly astounded. Amazed honestly... I didn't ever think I could actually feel this good. I don't understand. I have went through my entire life, for 27 years so far, feeling absolutely terrible, and I didn't even know it. How could I? I didn't realize what FEELING like a man meant.

When I took the AI, the next morning when I woke up, I felt like another person. My entire attitude changed. I knew high estrogen played a role in how men felt but I didn't know to this degree.

A few things I noticed so far in these 2 weeks and few days. My acne is clearing up, its still there slightly, but nowhere near as bad as before. I'm less bloated. My body feels more hard and masculine than puffy and soft. My mood has changed, my emotions are more stable and less affected by outside events.

I also feel better, like happier somehow. You know the feeling you get when the seasons change, or its Christmas day when your a kid? Well that seems to be how I feel more and more now. A happier sort of continent. My erection problems are still slightly present, but I can get a erection. I also feel like I can control my libido easier than before, its not so overwhelming. I don't think about sex all day now, but if it happens im ready to go.

All in all I think having high estrogen really sucks. For me it made me feel bad, and I didn't even know it. Don't get me wrong the testosterone helped by itself, but when coupled with hcg and ai's its like a whole new ballgame. I will never go back to testosterone only protocol's. THIS is how TRT is supposed to be administered. Cant wait for week 3!

That is AWESOME man! I really wish EVERYONE could have that kind of experience. Are you going to a cash-only type longevity clinic, or is this an actual specialist that folks with insurance can use?

I'm finding it ridiculous that the longevity places have their shit together, yet John Q McDoctorPants stumbles on something as simple as estradiol or hematocrit. If this is an actual doctor's office, you just struck gold my friend. (not that there's anything wrong with longevity clinics, outside the fact I can't afford them :()

Actually it is a longevity clinic. Its $50 dollars a week without insurance, you give them $50 bucks and they give you your shots and out the door you go. If you have insurance though, it can be free depending on your insurance. Soon it will be free for me. Its a long drive and its expensive right now, but i will have insurance soon and this is entirely worth it.

Also i know what your saying about these places having there stuff together and doctors not having a clue. I'm still unable to figure that one out....

Wow! Guys that understand TRT AND accept insurance. That's PHENOMENAL!

I know I'm still amazed i found them. They have places all over the U.S. If anyone wants i can give you there name. Just PM me. They have been great so far.

(Not sure about that stuff and forum rules so better to play it safe)

Vegas is about 2.5 hours from me. I've made an appt with a Longevitiy clinic instead of continuing to go to the endo I'm seeing now. I want to see someone that actually understands TRT. The great part is they will look at ALL hormones to make sure everything is in check. You also get your meds from a compounding pharmacy, so it's fresh, and custom dosing.

One thing that may help those who have had a roller coaster journey and have managed to get dialed in but still puzzled by ED.
For the times where your E2 has gone fairly high this may of lead to your prolactin levels to rise to a level that could effect your quality of erections, although your E2 levels may be bang on where you need them, your prolactin levels may still be to high causing ED. With me everytime ive taken a small dose of caber (dostinex) my wood goes into overdrive again. Im still yet to get there on managing my E2 levels.

Good news.
When do you shoot T and take the a.i.?
Plz give us the breakdown. .

Its all the same day.

150mg Testosterone Cypionate
500iu hCG
.25mg Arimidex

That is taken / injected every Wednesday at the same exact time.

I then take (1) .25mg Arimidex 3 days later.

And that's it.

Keep us posted im digging this thread. I was on trt as well for about a year 50mgs E3D no Ai or hcg. Getting back on soon and going to a clinic that knows what their doing as opposed to an endo just like you and they have a similar protocol with hch and Ai.

Can you PM me who you are going through. Good luck and keep the results coming.

So I went to the clinic today for my daily shot and I have some good news. They have agreed that they are going to let me start pinning from home now. Yey! I will still have to pay the $200 a month BUT I may not have to buy the medication.

Also it seems my Prolactin levels are pretty high. I'm thinking that could be causing my Erectile Dysfunction. I cant get this thing hard to save my life anymore. My levels were 17.6 on a scale of (2.0 - 14.8), so that's pretty high compared to where they could be. I asked them about some medication to lower and they are looking into it.

I also got my blood work pulled today to check TT, Free T, and E2. I will get those results back tomorrow around noon, then I will post them on here.

I did some semi shady shit today, I have been falling off hard around Monday, leaving me 2 days in the dirt before my next injection. I know when the test comes back it will show me a little lower than 800 ng/dl, so... when I got home I went ahead and popped another 50mg of Test Cyp (from my personal stash) in to equal up to 200mg total.

I want to see how I feel come Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday that way I can "suggest" that I be moved up to 200mg a week. Gotta do what you gotta do... until tomorrow.

PS - I need to go ahead and thank IceJosh for the information about the prolactin, your why I remembered to ask them about it, so thank you!

If you need to bump up your dose a little but more to get to 800ng/DL fine, but if you're going to start pinning yourself, why not start splitting your dose into two per week? This gives you an influx of test more often. Your peaks will be lower, and your trough's will be higher.

Well I cant right now due to the fact that I get it injected from the clinic. As soon as I start doing my self injections again i'm sure I will go back to twice a week, if needed. Honestly, if I end up getting an amount that keeps me feeling good all the way up until I pin again at once a week, twice a week injections would just be splitting hairs then...

Once a week is easier, less scar tissue, less syringes in my ass, etc. If I cant get a dose that will last the entire week though, I will defiantly start pinning twice a week again with they let me start self injecting (which should be soon).

So they seemed to show there true colors today. I called about my blood work and my total t was only at 590 ng/DL.

He told me that that was great. I told him it wasn't and that I still crashed after 4 days and I don't want to spend 3 days a week suffering.

He tells me we can up it by 10 whole mg, wait 3 weeks and it should raise it by 100 ng/DL. He must be retarded, not care, or both.

Considering he is on 180mg a week and his trough is 800 ng/DL. He also tells me that their goal is now 600-800 ng/DL. That is NOT what he told me at first. Basically saying 600 is fine, well no its not if I feel like shit 3 days a week. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Moral, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

What's so terrible about 600 trough?

Besides once you start self injecting, you can start splitting the dose and be better off.

Or, are they not going to let you self inject now?
