PDE-5's(cialis) and pre workout

sooo i just got my order of cialis in and its kinda funny but as i was getting ready to go to the gym, i usually sit down and eat a couple scoops of C4..... and while i was doing that for some reason i got my attention drawn to the warning on the container saying...

Warning: do not take if you are currently taking nitrates for chest pain or if you are taking medication used to treat ED such as a PDE 5 inhibitor...

Im guessing this is because the PWO supp has nitrates and its nothing more then that?

can anyone with more experiences explain if this warning needs to be taken seriously or not..
 
There is a synergistic interaction between PDE-5 inhibitors and compounds that increase nitric oxide (i.e. C4) that causes a (potentially unsafe) decrease in blood pressure. In clinical settings, docs are very careful not to give people nitrates for chest pain if they've taken something like Cialis or Viagra within the last several hours. There's evidence that the interaction lasts for at least 24 hours (but less than 48) for Cialis.

something might happen, something might not. obviously, if you try it, get dizzy, and pass out in the gym, it's probably not smart to do it again.
 
His answer sounds pretty flip, but he's not all that wrong. I doubt you'll ever have any issue but I can't rule it out.
 
I take about 5-10mg cialis pre-workout lately, most of the time with the usual 5g taurine, 5g creatine, 32mg ephedrine and 2-400mg caffeine. Haven't tried adding actual pre-workout to the equation lately..

it's funny that you take it pre-workout. do boners at the gym make your workouts more effective?
 
They make it more entertaining, that's for sure. When I'm winking at the cardio bunnies it adds to the overall effect (and package ;)
 
I'm a paramedic and have actually run a call at a gym for this very combination of OTC and prescription drugs. The dude had bad chest pain, temporary blindness, killer headache, shortness of breath etc. He was not having a good day at all.

By that combo I mean C4 pre workout and cialis. I would be very careful, test tolerance, and keep an eye out for any other hyper or hypotensive side effects.

I just take 15mg pre workout eod. I dont get hard until im doing cardio for whatever reason. Must be all the rubbing between the legs :D
